To me depth is when your 3rd and 4th line score goals.

Secondary to that is what happens when a roleplayer is injured. Because when you have middle 6 guys moving up..who is taking their place?

I will bet all my sportsbook dollars. Zero chance. None. You lost who?

ANd somehow you are better in a much tougher division.

Some powerhouses and some bad teams:

1. Tampa, 111 points: Tampa's roster is worse than it was in the playoffs last year, but with Kucherov, it's better than their regular season roster from last year. They might coast but I'll put them at 1.

2. Toronto, 107 points: An elite regular season, expecting that trend to continue

3. Florida, 105 points: setting up a 1st round battle of cursed teams, I have Florida, who lost their worst player in Yandle, adding several pieces in Reinhart and Lundell, and have Ekblad returning. Knight will offset Driedger.

4. Boston, 104 points: Honestly 1 through 4 is tough, I just have the Bruins 4th as Krecji and Rask are gone, they added pieces and really wouldn't surprise me if they came 1st or 2nd.

5. Montreal, 90 points: Habs fans will disagree but they were given a gift of a terrible division and facing a choking playoff team and a banged up Jets squad, I think their regular season is indicative of the team.

6. Ottawa, 84 points: The Sens continue their solid rebuild and finish over .500

7. Detroit Red Wings, 67 points: Detroit had a surprising year last year but that was mainly due to absolutely fantastic goaltending,I don't think it will hold up again

8. Buffalo Sabres, 56 points: Stop, stop, he's already dead

1 Tampa
2 Boston
3 Florida
4 Montreal
5 Toronto
6 sens
7 buffalos
8 wings

without the protection of the Canada division to drive up perception teams will now settle in properly ....

Neither the Cinderella Habs or the Cinderella Leafs will win the Atlantic. To propose otherwise is the telling mark of a delusionalist.

We will see just how good TB is when they will have a new third line.

They won a crap load of games and playoff games without goodrow and Coleman. However they now know how they want that line to play. With everything else in tact it will still be a challenge to replicate that but they don't necessarily need to be as good as those guys were just need to be effective at their jobs. The top 6, top 4 d and vasi are still near best in league.

Cinderella leafs...lol
When did we go on a run , and how did I miss it!!!!

Although, come to think on it, the Leafs are more like the step-sisters than Cinderella.

Cinderella, like the Habs, had nobility. All she needed was a ticket to the ball to show to the world her character and worthiness. Just like all the Habs needed was a playoff berth.

The Leafs, like the stepsisters, lack heart. You can raise both in a lifestyle of privilege, surrounded them with fluff and ether but ultimately they fail because failure is essential to both their natures.
