There ain't anything like WJC Xmas time with the go to guy Ray Ferraro and the other dude, Gordon Miller, as a complementary color dude.

Agreed. I maybe will watch the tournament on TSN even tough the tournament is on free tv here.

I have a few European friends who wonder about why the WJC is such a big deal.

They don't understand the stakes - that this short tournament can easily make a career. The entire country watches and evaluates all of the players.

And Hockey Canada has to take these 20 kids and turn them into some semblance of a team, when every single one of them knows that if they excel they can get on the fast-track to the NHL.

They all want to show their stuff on the biggest stage, and they're all star players, but some of them may have to play less glamorous roles if the team is to succeed.

It's quite an undertaking.
