Potential NEW Leafs Line up:

If we're going all-in, use the 1st to upgrade the 3rd line. We need some spice on that line.

Our top 2 lines have to be loaded and this is the best way to attack Tampa IMO now with the added bottom 6 depth. Laffarti will be a surprise cuz of his speed and can put the puck in the net. Promote Knies to 4th line start him off slow and let him play with Acciari, Jarnkrok veteran guys to ease his transition. Engvall traded, useless in playoffs last yr and the playoff game doesnt suit him.

Gio - Mccabe
Lily - Holl

Our top 4 are the best defencemen on this team and need to play majority of minutes and they will.

yup. engvall out as i expected. just not good in playoffs and allergic to physical play. bye bye

wouldnt be shocked if this was our forwards.

Agreed on those pairing. If Schenn could play with huges, Rielly should match.
McCabe Brodie will shut everything down
And we have seen how good the Gio lili pairing is already.

That blueline is so disgustingly deep and strong, OMG I am in love with it.

Easily the best group of skaters we've had, which is amazing considering that every year we seem to be better and better. We need the goaltending to hold up, but it's on the players to get this done.

Sooo confused on who plays defence the screenshot below is without Schenn who is a RD

- Rielly, Brodie are both going to play. Riely although not a true #1, he is our #1, Brodie is a Rielly whisper, his calm steady nature and smart defensive play makes him a perfect #2, his effect on Rielly cant be ignored, i think he is our #2.

- We didn't trade for McCabe for him to sit. I think he plays meaningful minutes on the 2nd pair. I think he is our #3

- Gustafsson has 38 points in 61 games, 9 points more than Rielly, He has 11 points on the PP more than any d-man on the Leafs, he's a legit PP QB but sucks in his own end, I doubt he sits, I think he gets sheltered minutes and paired with a solid defence first defender to cover up for his crappy play without the puck. I think to maximize his offensive impact he needs to be a top 4 defender. I think he is our #4

- Gio has been a stud on the 3rd pairing, I think he plays but may get some time off to rest. I think come playoffs Gio is our #5

This leaves Lily, Holl, Schenn and Timmins to fight for the RD 3rd pairing. I think Timmons is the low man on the roster, I think he sits. That Leaves Lilly and Holl. IMO Lilly has earned a spot as a 3rd pairing d-man BUT no one on the Leafs back end has had more harder minutes than Holl but he is prone to have super bad games every couple of weeks, I don't think his propensity for occasional bad games is enough to bump him because he gets the tough minutes that means Keefe trusts him. I think Lilly and Timmons sits, rotating Gio and injury players in out of games between now and end of season. I think Schenn takes Benn's spot as a Black Ace and will get time if someone gets injured.

Yes I agree as well. I really don’t care what the pairings are as long as Rielly is not getting the most minutes against Tampa’s top line. Moving him to second pair is what I really want to see.
