Agreed. We all know what's going to happen eventually. It's either trade him now or MAYBE get a handful of games where he's his usual impactful self, a dozen other games where he's hobbling or trying to get his legs back, and then the rest of the time he's either injured...or suspended.

And once that suspension falls, not only can they not trade him, they can't terminate either. He's a giant coke-filled Russian anchor on the roster for the remainder of his contract.

So yeah, give me a player who's worse, because him being out of the lineup because of injury or suspension is simply not acceptable.

Parssinen might suck and probably does but that's one guy where I look at Bednar and say, you can't find any spot for him unless you're forced into it? Now, he has played a lot more the last two games and the results have been horrendous so that doesn't help my case but that line is just a thrown together mess. I'd like to see him next to Drury on the third line before just writing him off.

Meh, at this point is Valimaki any good? He was quite promising before that horrible knee injury, feels like he hasn't been the same since.

I dunno. I’m a huge bednar fan and believe this is a roster issue not a coach issue, but you really have three options here:

1) fire bednar now, try to address what you can by the trade deadline and hope you get a coach bump.

2) keep bednar, address what you can at the trade deadline and reassess the coaching staff during the offseason (the most likely scenario in my mind.

3) make minor moves at the trade deadline and kick try to address the team during the offseason, effectively burning another year of Mack’s prime. This scenario almost guarantees a coaching change.

I can’t see them doing 1 or 3 personally. It’s too late in the year to fire the coaching staff and truth be told I’m not at all convinced that any other coach in the league is going to do better with these guys. I’d think the heat would be on Cmac on #3, so I can’t see them doing that either.

This is a super tough situation to be in. Val has not value because of his injuries and drug issues. Mitts garbage play is killing his trade value too. Colton and Wood are likely offseason moves. The landeskog situation

I don’t mean to be negative here, but I just don’t see a realistic way forward for this year honestly. There is just lots to overcome and not a lot out there.

For the record he does suck. Not as sucky as he's currently showing but he does suck.

He was always a project player and is being thrust into a rough spot on that second line playing RW which isnt even one of the positions he has spent a lot of time at. He could end up not being worth a look at all but this is pretty reductive. And Bednar seems to hate him which doesnt bode well for development. He is getting the lowest average TOI of any foward right now.
