I am starting to have some kind of initial list built up and having kind of a feeling about this draft class.

I still think Lambert is elite package and will probably have similar kind of a season as Räty after the pressure of this draft is over.

I realize I have Slaf ranked kinda low and Yurov as well but I'll trust my eyeballs on this one. I think other guys have slightly more high end skill than Slaf.

Danila Yurov has lot of hands but I don't think he is that much of a playmaker or that his game would translate that well for NHL.

Noah Östlund is the wildcard of this draft for me personally. He has lot of high end skills and could end up being potential steal in this draft if the way he wants to play his game translates to NHL. Östlund smells to me like a potential Yzerman/Kekeläinen pick(probably around early second round).

1. Shane Wright
2. Logan Cooley
3. David Jiricek
4. Juraj Slafkovsky
5. Matthew Savoie
6. Brad Lambert
7. Frank Nazar
8. Simon Nemec
9. Kevin Korchinski
10. Liam Öhgren
11. Joakim Kemell
12. Jonathan Lekkerimäki

19. Gleb Trikozov
20. Nathan Gaucher
21. Rutger McGroarty

I am intrigued by a lot of other guys like Kasper, Mesar, Rinzel, Miroshnichenko, Bichsel, etc... but I didn't see enough to feel confident putting them this high, and just ran out of time (have to stop for a new job). I did see enough of Snuggerud, Casey, Odelius, and Howard and they just missed the cut.

It looks like the chance of Ostlund lasting through the 1st round has evaporated at the U18s. If he will be that bold pick it will be around pick 12/13 for Kekalainen. Past mid-round there would be nothing bold about picking Ostlund.

One round of picks after U18. Last ordering was missing Kulich and some other guys. Should be pretty much my final list now that I have seen at least some amount of most these guys I wanted to see and I don't think there is gonna be much big events anymore. Right?

Östlund is still my special wild card of this draft but like was said earlier, he may no longer be such an wild card after U18. At least I can say that I was almost always high on him :D

I like Hamara, but there are a lot of CHL Dmen out there that I'd take before him.

absolutely.. I don't think it happens at all. Just a pipe dream. I do think Hamara will be a steal though.. his lower ranking is more due to missing U18 and Hlinka with injuries. Plays in men's league in Finland so hard to scout.

I don't think three Czechs in the 1st round are that unreasonable. Jiricek is a lock, Kulich did everything he could and more at the U18s to get there and while Sapovaliv didn't produce that much at the tournament, I liked his play. He is the type of player NHL scouts will covet more than ordinary hockey fans do I think. I am not sure what his ceiling is, but he has a good chance to be at least a good bottom six forward eventually, which is pretty good value for a late 1st.

Blue shaded over their name means I've watched a ton of them + scouting reports, orange is I've watched a fair amount of full games + scouting reports, yellow is I've watched highlights/read scouting reports but haven't watched full games. Hopefully by the time the draft rolls around the top 100 or so will all be blue or at least orange shaded. The green shading on the left is their tiers. Ivan is yellow and will likely go way before #40, but given all the uncertainty I think if he's available close to 40 the uncertainty to benefit ratio favors taking him. Personally I would probably go with him as soon as the second round hits if for some miracle he's still there, so maybe I should move him to #33.

Fairly confident in the top 27 or so, and then it's just becoming a mess afterwards. Some might fall out of the top 27 and move into the bottom tier, but I don't see anyone falling out from the top 14 past 27. I have lots of people from 41-150 or so that I need to re-organize and shade, watch and see if they make it into the top 40 to bump out Luneau/Nelson/Snuggerud/ LDBB/Hamara, but I'm fairly confident Gaucher, McGroarty, Goyette, Kasper, Pickering and Chesley are all going to stay in the top 40 or may even move up. 41-80 right now is a mess so I'll post that when I finish ranking them.

Cool list. I’m curious where Yurov/Mint/Miro end up. I’d like if one of the first two slide for our Bruins pick, or a slight trade up.
