yep.

Judge: 1st Half .426babip, 198wrc+ --- 2nd Half .231babip, 80wrc+

wouldn't be the first guy to have a hot half season and end up not so great.....and at age 26 next year, even calling him a kid starts to lose meaning.

Meanwhile Sanchez doesn't look like he'll stick at C longterm.

Judge's .430 BAPIP or whatever it was couldn't last for much longer.

What he's doing now is basically what he will be IMO. Low average, decent OBP excellent power but strikes out a ton and will have a low average. Kind of like Mark Reynolds.

I can see no harm in them doing it in order to build up some players that they can market as faces of the franchise/league. They also get to pimp out their shoes which is a pretty big deal to some of these players, allowing them a little more leniency with the uniform rules and to put their own personality into the game. Some of these guys (like Pearce) don't seem to really care about it, but some of the more flashy ones are going to have some fun with it.

Apparently Pearce is going to be "The Train".

Danny Jansen. What a crazy year.

360pa, 8.9bb%, 9.4k%, .344babip, .326avg, .147iso, 147wrc+

and by all reports a solid defensive catcher and gamecaller. and he's gone from slightly old for A+ to slightly young for AAA now, and is still thriving.

he might be one of the best catching prospects in baseball.

but the craziest stat of all of his stats this year has to be the insane fact that he has only swung and missed at 3.3% of his pitches seen this year.

3.3%.

Can anyone else find a number like that for any other prospect? vlad and bo are amazing in their own right but have swst rate around 8-9%, which is great. the best i can find is mookie betts posting around a 4.0% rate at 21 between AA/AAA.

but 3.3%?

Breyvic Valera (STL) is first at 2.7%. Jansen is 2nd out of 1523 qualified batters. I guess that's ok.

I mentioned Borucki the other day half jokingly, but now it actually makes sense. He's having a great season, he's on the 40-man... and now apparently it even lines up well with his rotation spot. I don't see a lot of downside in giving him a one-off start.

I was hoping for Borucki but didn't think it was likely. Tulo to the 60 day DL to open up the 40 man spot I assume(which I didn't think of earlier)

Just read on mlbtr that Borucki is on their list of like 3 players knocking on the door for a call up. That he's only at 112 inning so far this year and that with the injury to Valdez it may happen because he's been so dominant in his 3 starts so far in AA. Maybe Tepech is a place holder to allow him one more start in AA.

I hope Carlos Ramirez gets a call up soon. Great AA numbers. WHIP was .72 in 23 innings. He got called up to AAA. His first outing 2 innings no base runners and 4 SO.

Tellez was 2 for 4. Hernandez 0 for 5 with 3 S). Maybe trying to impress too much with the team?

Also Buffalo faced Drew Hutchinson.

Carlos Ramirez got good fast despite being a converted player. Really happy to see him succeeding.

Jonah Keri is a lot like Hayhurst in that he was good when nobody paid attention to him. Once he got a ton of national US exposure he started chasing hot takes and clickbait opinions for eyeballs and cash money.

Haven't heard much about Aaron Judge lately...

Over the last month: .187/.348/.385 (.309 wOBA, 91 wRC+, .198 ISO) 36.5% K%

Shout out to regression.

I've heard lots about him. About how the derby and the break have caused the slump because it monopolized his time and tool his focus away.

Babe Ruth never had to deal with this crap. He'd just go out to a club, dance with a dame and smoke a cigar with his beer.

I agree. The problem is tulo is rarely healthy. Goins is better then travis at 2nd too. But travis is way better offensively. Too bad he is rarely healthy too

Meh, I think Travis and Goins defensively at 2B are nearly a toss up. Goins is so horrible offensively that he is essentially unplayable. I would like to believe that the front office will go out and acquire a backup infielder in the offseason who can replace Goins and/or Barney.

Come on Jays, you can do this!

Hold the Yanks to 0 runs and score 1 run in each inning left.

goins, despite the highlight plays, is not a great fielder. maybe not even a good one.
