Canada had problems with discipline. Small stupid things, which you do not expect to see on this level.

Mark Scheifele trying to get the puck from Koskinen's glove by slashing it with his stick - in front of the referee. You do not do this to a goalie. That was a really stupid penalty, which partly changed the direction of the game. Then Corey Perry kneeing Patrik Laine outside the game!?

If Canada continues to play on this level Sweden is going to crush it. If a miracle happens and they beat Sweden, Russia is going to destroy the team. But, now they have two days time to improve their performance.

That wasn't Scheifele

Agreed. Sweden will most likely beat us. We have almost no chance to even make it to the Gold game against Russia/Finland.

C'mon .... just because of one game against the Finns. Trust me, Team Canada is still a favourite to reach the final.

I don't think so. I was really hoping for a Canada v Russia final in Moscow. But I don't think we'll see it, Canada isn't good enough to make it there sadly.

Comon... Canada will make it to the medal game... maybe not Gold but bronze its for sure.

TSN before the WHC started:

"McDavid: over or under 15p?"

Button: Over! By far!
McKenzie: Over. Thats what happends when generational talents like Crosby and McDavid goes to the WHC

Pfft

Serriously have you seen Sweden play this tournament?

I agree that Sweden has been rather poor in this tournament. But, did you see Canada playing tonight? Do not worry, me neither. In order to win hockey games, you are supposed to play.

I am a bit surprised by McDavid's production. I thought he would go gangbusters.

We deserve to be **** on and can say nothing about it after today. I have no response to all the disrespect we are being shown here and on our roster page by posters from other countries.

I just hope this was a wake up call.

They always do that when they manage to beat us.And when we win they either mostly dissapear or go on a ref gave them the game rant.

All Canadian fans need to realize that.

These guys hate us, always have and always will.

When we win, just show class they don't have.

We will have the last laugh on all these guys anyway, we always do sooner or later.

After the final whistle of the game, the GDT was flooded with Canadian fans congratulating Suomi. When the game is done you show respect, but we'll never get that when we lose.

Like I said hopefully this was a wake up call for the guys.

Congrats Suomi. Fully deserved to win today. I always enjoy talking hockey with your fans.

Good luck in the knockout rounds. Canada will be finished on Thursday when they lose to Sweden. I'll be cheering for you guys.

Canada vs Denmark final and then it's anyone's game.

Canada is tough in that regard. There's the whole "our game" thingy that Canada actually can back up and it always makes Canada THE country to beat. And if you go and beat Canada, something has likely gone horribly enough wrong that sa regular "gg" and the standard platitudes often feels like rubbing it in really.

Especially with Finland there's always the underdog thing and we really just try hang on and hope as our go-to strategy that the Canadian top guys will get off their game at some point and goon it up to have it bagged for us. But if it goes to that then it of course will weight on the post game feel-good feely stuff or the lack of it.

Typical HF, an entire team loses and people still find ways to trash McDavid and Hall. Yes Talbot had a bad game but so did the entire team. Bad penalties, giveaways, odd man rushes. Just an awful game.

McDavid and Hall created a lot of chances but props to Suomi for playing a great game.

As for Talbot, he came into this game with only 3 goals against over 4 games and 2 shutouts. He kept Canada in against other teams when they were playing sloppy, don't base his entire tournament off one game.

And its actually better they got humbled now than in the medal rounds.

Congrats to the Finns. They were the better team today.

No trash talking from me, as I'm better than that, and like to hold myself to higher standards than most, it seems. But if that crap makes you feel better (as sad as that is), then have fun!

Finnish team was faster and worked harder.

Canada always seemed a step behind and didn't play with the same relentless pressure.

Better that this game happens now instead of the medal round.

Full marks to the Finns though! They look really good this year.

Canada had the momentum early. Brassard and Marchand taking consecutive, bone-headed penalties ruined it. The refereeing was a bit inconsistent in the first two-thirds of the game which didn't help the already undisciplined Canadians.

Cam Talbot had a tough afternoon. He's rebound control was abysmal and he lost his crease a few too many times. A goalie of his calibre shouldn't be allowing six/seven-hole goals at this tournament. Hopefully he has bounce back game on Thursday.

Ryan Murray was especially bad in the second period. He was all over the ice in a bad way. Peters should limit his time going forward. I was really unimpressed with him today.

It worked out for Canada. If they play like they did before today's Finland game, they can definitely beat Sweden and CZE/USA. Although I think they will have a tougher time against the underrated CZE team-if they meet.

If Finland beats Denmark + Germany or Russia, and it's a Canada vs Finland final, I highly doubt Finland can beat Canada twice in one tournament. Also, Finland has never swept a tournament before, and I don't see it happening this time around neither. On the other hand, if Canada and Russia meet, I believe Russia will win this time around.

Brutal, brutal game by Talbot today. Except for the first goal, the deflection, he was at fault on the Finn goals. Blew an easy save, overplayed the second goal badly, putting him down and way, way out, offered up a ridiculous rebound on the fourth goal off an easy save. I would not play him against Sweden, he buckled under pressure.

Our guys seemed more interested in goon tactics than playing the game today. No speed and a lot of frustration at the Finn shell game led to turnovers and quick transitions.

Their poor play though had a lot to do with the confidence-busting weak goals by Talbot. Give the other guy a chance. They're making a mistake if they put him in in an elimination game, he doesn't have the cojones, sorry. In truth, a back-up goalie at his best when the pressure's on the other guy.
