I didn't watch the match. The easy win for Finland was slightly unexpected.

How was McDavid? Is he struggling?

Glad Talbot and everyone decided to have a bad game now instead of holding on to the stinker for QFs/SFs/Final.

They need to play better and they can play better.

That is true, as Czech won their group.

1. Finland
2. Canada
3. German
4. Usa

1. Czech
2. Russia
3. Sweden
4. Denmark

Ahh, the Czechs actually won the group before Russia. Who would have thought before the tournament started?!

Full marks to Finland on the win.

However, this game was a poster child for why the NHL should never consider a larger ice surface, 33 shots for both teams combined and I'd say half of those were unscreened long distance shots. Snoozefest.

lol small ice is boring...

Best players tonight:

*** Mikko Koskinen
*** Mika Pyörälä
*** Tommi Kivistö
** Atte Ohtamaa
** Sebastian Aho
** Leo Komarov
** Jarno Koskiranta

I cannot really name any Canadians among the best players. Only the first five minutes of the game were dominated by Canada. After that Finns dominated the game.

I've never understood the "big ice = better hockey" argument.

The hockey in Vancouver was insanely more interesting than Sochi, and this tournament has been pretty meh so far.

Lol! you hope that because you know its an easy victory right:laugh:?

Perhaps because both of our championships (95, 2011) are against Sweden. Two of our recent junior wins are also against Sweden (u20 2014, u18 this year).

Sorry to say, but I'm getting more and more convinced that McDavid is not the next one. Not definitely the class that Crosby was at the same age. Of course he is a very good player for his age. But for sure he is not any tier above the other great prospects. He is definitely overhyped. I have been watching every Canada's game and every game I'm waiting for him to start really showing something truly special. But no, it just doesn't happen. He seems in fact physically pretty weak, and is not really that competitive in battle situations. I was much more impressed with the play from Aho today. Very nice and active playing from him.

It would be ridiculous to write off McDavid based on a couple games in an international tournament with mostly unfamiliar teammates and ice surface. He was far, far more impressive in his 45 games in the NHL this season. It took him a while to look comfortable in junior too, and in the World Juniors, and in the NHL.

Look at the shots in Russia - Sweden game. Russia had 40 shots on goal and Sweden had 37  But yeah I kinda agree. I prefer the games in smaller rink but I think both sizes have their good and bad sides also.

More time and space for beautiful play.

I always fet the NHL is too fast for the game, it's like watching floorball and tough to see the puck.

No. Always tough games. I was thinking of the age old rivalry.

But now that you say it. :D

Haha yeah good old rivalry! but this year Finlands team is on a completely different level so it would not be a verry funny game to watch with "swedish eyes":D!

Yeah you are really good at junior!

But you have to agree that it would be like a walk in the park for you guys to face this Swedish team in the final.
