I don't think I've ever seen Connor make a pass to Laine from down low right side on the PP. Lot of missed opportunities where he's been open. Wheeler might be able to find Patty from there (harder for someone right handed though)... most importantly though he'd be a bigger body in front/board battles.

Ehlers should replace Blake on the right half-wall. That unit is way too static & predictable. Nik would add some more movement being a threat to curl off the boards and attack the middle or one-time it.

This f***in' place, man. You lot are only happy if they win the corsi and the scorsi.

Better team lost. They keep playing like that--and maybe kill a f***ing penalty--and they'll be fine.

Morrissey needed to play to the whistle on the winning goal. First he lost the icing race, then eventually he got it to the line and gave up.

Roslovic is snakebitten.

Chevy should fire Maurice and if ownership won't allow that trade Ehlers. What a waste of talent. Everyone sees that he's now the best winger in this team, but this stubborn idiot won't play him.

Laine took his spot, it's simple as that. You can't have it both ways, Laine fans will complain whenever Laine is put in the second line doghouse, Ehlers fans complain when the opposite happens. It's not Maurice's fault the team lacks a good second line center.

Also you should look at how some other teams are composed, Calgary for instance. Matthew Tkachuk doesn't play on the first line, he plays on the second. It's generally not a good idea to put all your eggs into one basket.

But the real problem is that Fefe & Blake are playing together, which is not a good thing for the team.

For example Ehlers + Laine are more than capable wingers for Scheifele. Put Wheeler with Copp and Connor, and we have a decent 1b line.

And that is 100% on Maurice not to try that since mid 16-17. You can't blame Chevy for that.

Think about it: since mid 16-17, almost 3 calendar years Scheifele & Wheeler have not separated even for a single shift, unless there has been an injury, penalty or some other very urgent reason to do that. I have never experienced such a hip jointed duo on my life.

Three L's in a row and it's only October.

But it's bad bounces and we deserved better again.

Said the team that doesn't know how to win.

Fun fact:

The Copp line actually played exactly the same as the Scheifele line today at 5v5 with 14:13 TOI.
When was the last time the Scheifele line did not have the (clearly) highest TOI?

I think Maurice trusts the Copp line quite a bit (and I agree with him on this:help:)

Everybody is arguing re coach.
At the end of the day result matters.
The results been bad for around 60 games or so, right?

Good defense
Bad defense
We iced one of the deepest line up last year.
Practical same result.

Again this team might need a fresh coach.
Nothing wrong with the one we have now as a human being.
Just time to change the lead guy. (It might change also the view of some of the vets).

What's best for the team "moving forward".
The more its prolong the more we lose the years we have with the
Scheifele
Laine
Connor
Ehlers
Helly

Prime years.

Got to pull the trigger soon Chevy.
Hard to relive a good man of his position.
And i don't feel good in writing this now. But the team need some change in philosphy and atmosphere.

I still hope they turn it around but i'm just being a homer saying that now.

I can only recall 1 the last year and a half...

I was ready for Luc to jump over the glass, judo chop Kompon, eye poke Huddy, ***** slap Woodcroft, and drop kick Maurice, then he would start barking out plays and the Jets would magically transform into the team we hoped for.................. ya my mind wandered during the game.

Boy oh boy is this the greatest of visuals. Thanks for that :)

Not really. Only Tampa scored significantly better in the regular season last year, Winnipeg was 1 point away from winning the tough Central Division. It's fine to argue for a change of coach, but the results don't really support the argument. If you go by the standard that current results are not good enough, then you have to argue that half of the teams in the NHL should fire their coaches as well.

Scoring, we are not talking about scoring with this top 6. They should score on their sleep. Its suppose to be that good.
Yeah they were 1 point out. Watching the games there at the end of the year, they placed themselve in that situation. They had the central in the bag and they squandered.
Cant reason its 1 point out, when clearly they should have been the top team. Again talent alone this team should make the playoff, specially last year.
The Jets standard is the 2nd longest standard in the league. Its not the norm by the way.

Overall, the results have been good the last two years. The problem is the downward trend. We regressed 15 points in the last regular season and two rounds in the playoffs. This trend has only been getting stronger since January (with the "old" defense) and continues now with the "new" defense (small sample size).
We'll see what happens, I guess.

If we’re being totally honest, having the PP go through Laine on the left side half wall would be a massive improvement. Teams have to respect his shot and it’s good enough to be effective even without the one timer. And his vision is just as good as Wheeler’s.

Are you kidding me? Laine is very sloppy with the puck. He loses it quite a bit.

I respect that he can be a good passer but he gives up the puck quite a bit.

Better game from the Jets but we aren't going to win many games when we only score 1 goal .Little and Buff back will definitely help us . Just got to say that some people were actually saying in the GDT that they are counting the days until Scheif is gone , really ? That's just goofy . Scheif is a great player on a great contract , he needs some time away from Wheeler . When Little comes back put Ehlers up with Laine and Scheif , then Little , Wheeler and Connor .

I didn't like the final score - but that was a helluva lot better game by the Jets. Encouraging.

Gotta score more than 1 goal.

With 36 secs to go and Lowry on the ice, Scheifele takes the face-off? Really?

But if the Jets can play like that regularly, they will win more than they will lose.
