Am I the only one who doesn't want to part with a 1st or Knies for Crouse? I mean.....getting Crouse means saying goodbye to ROR for cap reasons.

Can people explain the fascination with screwing up future moves?
I think it’s the instant gratification of the trade itself, than after a few days they regret it. But this trade at this time makes no sense, in the off-season, perhaps depending on how things shake out

Well crouse is on pace for a 45 pt season with a meh zona team. I'd imagine him in our top 6 would be a 50-55 pt player ala bunting. He's only 25.

ROR is good but he does look to be slowing. It's an interesting conversation imo.

I'd like to do the move because I just want to go all in - no excuses of no top 6 winger etc. And then if this core still cant get it done, no excuses you move on.

BUT i see both view points re crouse.

edit: knies is untouchable tho

Only 3 games but nice to see a 2.04 GAA .938 SV%.
While it is largely a meaningless stat (can be as much a function of what team you play on), another little factoid:

Most wins by a goalie through their first 7 career NHL appearances -

franchise history:

6- Frank McCool
6- Damian Rhodes
5- Joseph Woll
5- Al Rollins
5- Gord McRae
5- Jiri Chra
4- Seven others tied

I had kind of forgotten about ole Damian Rhodes!

Comtois makes so much sense it's not even funny. Cheap to get, potential and upside, and a UFA we can let walk if he's not a fit.

Expecting quiet, with the off-chance Dubas hits us with a WTF, out of the blue unexpected trade a name that isn't currently out there (I'm looking at you Dylan Larkin, crying because your Bestie Bertuzzi was moved yesterday... Come on over for a chance to try to kick his ass!!!).

As it stands, the names out there aren't anything to get excited about.

Kerfoot's gonna be really tired.
I was just rushing to set up the lineup before I posted. I switched it to Kampf but feel free to go in there and put whoever you want at 4C.

Larkin signed an extension like 2 days ago

Even after Larkin signed his $8.7 x 8 extension?

Crouse would be an excellent add, don't expect it though

i was all in on ROR as well and lvoed the acqusition. But you know, I'd like to see ROR vs Crouse in terms of fit. Probably could recoup assets for crouse if we go the ROR route as his pt totals would get a boost form playing with our big guns. I'd think anyway. Lets see.

If this is it Id be pissed because f*** sandin's request. He should be here and that washington and vancouver trade becomes useless af.

Makes me laugh to hear Duthie apologizing for talking about the Leafs in detail, assuring the hinterlands that they will get equal coverage. They are so conscious of the Toronto Sports Network trope. Gotta pander to the pervaside anti leaf dummies
You are watching? ...damn didn't think ppl would watch those two clownshows anymore. Lol.

Why? Odds that one of them come out of the West have to be better than the Leafs coming out of the East.
Yup. I had to laugh the other day thinking "imagine having potentially four 100 point (or near) players and spending much of your season wondering if you'll get a wild card spot" yet simultaneously having a good chance of getting out of your conference?

Have you even spent 2 minutes going over the cap for next season? You can fit all of ROR/Crouse/Bunting, especially if they get Vejmelka for Murray too.

Yep, missed that piece of information...
Yeah, I keep looking for the next under the radar move too.

While I firmly believe the Leafs may make a minor move to shore up the Marlies, and unless something falls into their laps (or some prices drop markedly), I think they are done.

If we are into our backup or 3rd string we shouldn't expect to win anyways. Murray was the last goalie to beat Vasilevskiy more than once in a playoffs series. He should be fine down the stretch and in the playoffs. He isn't our starter anyways. Woll is as good as any contenders 3rd string.
