I was a little puzzled by the mob of defencemen. Injury insurance for a long playoff run should probably be secondary to a strong enough overall lineup to get out of the first round. Of course if they have some guys that are banged up then it makes a lot more sense. If they can't get a 3rd rounder for Kerf or Holl then why not own rental for depth although I believe with Holl's better contract and more valuable position there is a market. If you need 9 D for the playoffs a 3rd goalie might make some sense but only if KD knows there is an ongoing issue with Murray and ankle stuff normally doesn't take 2 months to heal.

Its a good lineup and their fate still rests with the big 4 performing. It would be crazy if they made another deal for a non rental forward though.

Nothing seems like a candy toss away. A few years ago when Dubas did the Foligno, Nash, Riddick, etc. That felt like tossed away candy.

Said we weren't done after the McCabe deal and he was right there too.
He isn't just a guy looking for attention

Interesting with Rutherford's comments about not moving Miller too that they're looking for a centre.

Perhaps Kerfoot could be moved later today if the market dries up.

Then again the Leafs' only move Kerfoot if they have an upgrade lined up in another deal.

So there are likely two moving parts here which could easily break down.

A lot has happened since the ROR deal though, and we've played a few games and the third line still seems like the weaker link.
