What were the real expectations of lafferty? I think for anyone expecting more than a speedy 4th line winger on a contender they werent being realistic

I remember when the Flames landed their 1st. line center in the Phaneuf deal.

"Then also went from our 1C to our 4C and he was a pure consummate pro in that capacity..."

Stajan was all class, but playing for that Toronto team he looked much better than he was.

Stajan was probably 3rd line centre quality.

Good guy.

Gotta love the media when it comes to anything Toronto.

Orlov
Kane
Toews (probably retiring)
Bertuzzi
Tarasenko
ROR
Patches (interesting if he is going to recover)
Klingberg
Dumba
Zucker
Varlamov
Ghost
Killorn
Severson
Brown
Wood
Graves
Soucy
Barbashev
Mayfield

Those are some interesting names and if you can get them signed to the right price, they can be good adds for your team.

I don't think Bunting is ahead of a lot of these guys, if at all.

Absolute straight up click/rage bait lol

I mean, Bunting is a great complimentary player and we've seen how he can play with the right teammates, and will probably come in cheaper than a lot of the others, so I can see there being significant interest.
But we've also seen how he plays without the right players and he's definitively not the cream of the crop

Seriously, it is pure delusion to believe Bunts is ahead of even half of these names

I absolutely despise Engvall and think he's one of the worst playoff wingers in the league.

How do you manage to replace him with a downgrade: Lafferty. Circles will be skated around Lafferty in the playoff, mark my word.

My issue with Engvall in playoff is that after game 2 he was so bad at even strength. Why we replace him with someone 100000x worse at even strength.

Pretty sure Orlov, Kane and ROR are UFAs. They are just trying to pump up Bunting for clickbait

How do we know this when we haven't seen him play 1 playoff game here? Or even play 1 game when we have a fully healthy lineup.

If you watch Lafferty live, you will see that he does a lot of off camera stuff that bugs the crap out of other teams.
Also, I still don’t think Keefe is clear in what he is asking Lafferty to do on the ice due to ROR being injured and always playing with 11/7. Of all the new additions, it seems like Keefe is just throwing Lafferty out there and see where he sticks.

Schenn just bought a house in
Didn't he say his apartment is next door to Kaberle's?
I assumed he was renting.

I didn’t remember him saying what type of house it was. I don’t believe Kaberle lives in an apartment though. He lives in North York and he has a 1 kid my nephew’s age (I coached against him last year). He’s also fully settled into the area with his family.

Totally off topic, but Kaberle is one of the most down to earth guys you will ever meet. I didn’t even recognize him when I first saw him. He’s transformed into a total accountant looking dad lol. I doubt anyone would assume he’s a former athlete by his current day appearance.

Thanks, just assumed he'd rent a condo until the end of season.
Strange he would buy although I guess he could be renting the house.

The Leafs gave him time extended time off with his family when his wife gave birth. Treated him like someone they want to keep around beyond just the playoff run. I am hoping that’s the case because he has settled into his role very nicely here

They treat everyone well.
Players don't buy in the city they are traded too unless they have term remaining.
I still imagine he's just leasing.

How exactly? He hits people. That is it. He has been awful outside of that, and he barely even plays (for good reason).

At this point he has been closer go a waste of a 3rd round pick than someone the Leafs should be wanting to bring back.

Lyubushkin was bad too but at least he played big minutes once in a while.

Since he's got here he's had to play 2nd line C, 3rd line C, winger on the 3rd and 4th line in such a short period of time while trying to get comfortable on the team. Not an easy thing to do and he hasn't been bad and lately he seems to be comfortable and he's been getting chances and his line has been very noticeable. People act like he doesn't bring what others did who were moved out but they didn't exactly blow us away with offensive production and they weren't making near league minimum like Lafferty does. The Pierre Engvall fan club has gotten a little too crazy since the deadline and I get it a bit because I'd much rather Engvall over Kerfoot but I assume Dubas and them think Kerfoot is a better fit to play alongside Knies over Engvall and that is probably true.

I do kind of feel bad for ZAR because he's been excellent since the deadline and all the new acquisitions and he's most likely the odd man out come playoff time unless Knies is really bad when he gets here. Would we be able to send Knies to the Marlies if that was the case?

With Winnipeg being a tire fire will Hellebuyck resign with them .
If he is available do you take a run at him next summer ?
If so what is the price to trade for him ?

Buyout or trade Murray
Trade Sammy

Woll will be the backup

You c.consider it. But if Sammy looks to be the real deal he's going to be MUCH cheaper over the next 5+ seasons
