Yes, agreed.32nd pick is first round, 33 pick is second round.
He said hot takes, not sexy takes.I'm not wearing pants.
basically the same thingOr we can say the early second (33rd and 34th pick) being a late 1st, lol
I get the sentiment. But they've also already traded 2 1sts.All considered, it feels stupid holding onto Bruins 2023 1st here.
You can call it whatever you want. Most teams don't value a 1st round pick that they expect to be in the 30th-32nd range very differently to a high 2nd round pick, because the quality of players available tends to be pretty similarDoes that make an early 2nd a late 1st?
Nobody claimed it was a higher 1st, just call it as it is. A late 1st. Simple, no?
Well the 32nd pick used to be a second just a few yrs ago.basically the same thing
Yep, Timmins was picked 32. Had Seattle been in the league then he'd have been a first round selection.Well the 32nd pick used to be a second just a few yrs ago.
This TDL is slow, lol
True but who is available? You can call it whatever you want. Most teams don't value a 1st round pick that they expect to be in the 30th-32nd range very differently to a high 2nd round pick, because the quality of players available tends to be pretty similar
Days not overI really thought Dubas would have done something today.
He wasn't my first option but with the lack of LW scoring in the top 6 I would have taken Domi at that price.
He's... too sexy for his pantsHe said hot takes, not sexy takes.
Didn’t know that, that would mean Dubas trades Douglas for a 1st rounderYep, Timmins was picked 32. Had Seattle been in the league then he'd have been a first round selection.
I really don’t want any poor defensive forwards added. I have really liked having 4 strong defensive lines.I really thought Dubas would have done something today.

high 1st round picks are rarely traded. When people say the cost is "a 1st" you should have a late 1st in mind as expectation. That's why I think it's weird to describe it as an early 2nd.
Pretty much a 2nd (trigger set)Didn’t know that, that would mean Dubas trades Douglas for a 1st rounder
I will do one better.here is a spicy take Woll starts game 1

In terms of value and historical success rate, yes.Does that make an early 2nd a late 1st?
For those who think we're done, curious, how do we feel about our plan to keep 9 defensemen?
Honest question, it seems y'all are right considering it's already 1:40PM, I just don't understand Dubas' rationale for acquiring 9 NHL Defensemen, especially if it means one of our best (Lily) doesn't play.
I'll call it what it is, a 1st round pick. You can call it whatever you want.
