Garland @50% for Kerfoot + Boston 1st?

Doesnt seem too bad of value. Would you use Garland as a scoring threat on the third line or?

I'd use him as a middle 6 forward, much like Kerf. He's a smaller but more tenacious forward than Kerf and actually shoots the puck, unlike Kerf. He'd get eaten alive in the Eastern conference playoffs though.

What would it cost to get Chicago to retain 50% on Sam Reinhart?

BOS 1st to FLA for Reinhart
Good prospect (Hirvonen, Niemela, Robertson?) to Chicago to retain 50% on him,

Make cap space with Kerfoot or Holl

Profit

I can't see VAN retaining nearly 2.5M for that long. They are outwardly trying to clear cap. They could probably clear Garland for nothing next season if they just hold on to him and put him in a scoring role for the first 20 games.

Okay credit to TSN, this Bruce passionate speech idea is awesome.
If we win it all, I would actually bring Bruce and hand him a cup and go around with it.

Tuned into the TSN show, heard someone refer to the Sens as the 'team of destiny', tuned right out.

Also, if going all in means keeping Kerfoot and his $3.5M hit, then Dubas deserves to be fired. Stubborn bitch.

Destiny of what? Getting pounded by Boston?

To Toronto:
Conor Garland (50% retained by Chicago)

To Vancouver:
Alex Kerfoot

To Chicago:
Boston’s 2023 1st

There was talk in January from Dhaliwal that the Canucks were thinking of buying out Garland, and now he get's a 1st + just because??

What on earth???
They would be retaining half his salary though. I think Garland at sub 2.5 million for 4 seasons is probably a decent asset no? Also I figured Boston's first is basically going to be an early 2nd.

True, you don't think his feistiness would thrive in the playoffs? Just get boxed out to easily?

What would be the cost of the buyout? That would be the only reason I could see them retaining 2.5 for that long. I also think they may be able to stick him with Pettersson and inflate his stats as you mentioned though.

Well, the Titanic was a ship of destiny. Jus' sayin'.

No thanks. Karlsson will turn back into what he has been for the last 5 years soon enough.
A guy who plays 50-60 games and gets 30-45 points while making Rielly look like Slavin defensively.

Karlsson is probably going to end up in the HOF for what he did earlier in his career but he can’t stay healthy. He has had an amazing year but I see this season as the outlier on the back half of his career

Perhaps - but he could also be over his injury and playing well again. Plus the contract only has 4 years left versus the 7 year left for Reilly.

I mean it'll never happy so it's all just hypotheticals anyway.
