Rielly for Karlsson lmao
From a pure hockey point of view, I'd consider it. However, I'm not sure what effect trading Rielly would have on the team, so I'd probably shy away from it. Given that Dubas did so much shopping early, I suspect he's spent a lot of time today, checking in on deals that are more out there. Just my opinion.

I have a feeling something around an extended Kerfoot + for retained Garland is in the works

We’d need to get Garland at a 3-3.5 million dollar cap hit. Not sure if Vancouver would be willing to retain that much for that long.

Pierre seemed upset there wasn't more interest in Karlsson. Probably because his Sharks won't get anything in return now

Yes. Every team should be rushing to give up big for an aging, injury prone, overpaid, defensively weak, one trick pony. Unless Grier eats a lot of cash, Karlsson is staying put.

Well there has to be a taker for Kerfoot in order for a trade to work.

Also as much as we love to pile on Kerfoot, who will replace him? Has to be a trade in place to bring in another forward

50% retention and I would be interested

He's owed around $200K and is on an expiring contract. It's not a big deal to move him and use his space on a better player.

I might be crazy, but I'd do this trade especially if they retain 25%
No thanks. Karlsson will turn back into what he has been for the last 5 years soon enough.
A guy who plays 50-60 games and gets 30-45 points while making Rielly look like Slavin defensively.

Karlsson is probably going to end up in the HOF for what he did earlier in his career but he can’t stay healthy. He has had an amazing year but I see this season as the outlier on the back half of his career

Even if we do nothing now, it's a good deadline, but relying on Knies for additional scoring is risky. I'd like insurance. Garland would be nice.
