Nuge, Hyman , and Kane have contributed absolutely nothing positive this whole series. Gonna be hard to win this series if they continue their no show.

It's really not though. Sad thing is we don't even need these guys going.

We'd be up 3-0 if we could just stop taking pointless moronic penalties that have no reason to be taken every 5 minutes of every game.

Korpse is better than Skinner, theres no debate

I hated when the Kings traded for him at the deadline cause he was the missing piece

Even if that’s true, What’s the alternative?

We weren’t trading for a goalie. Honestly he’s not even that good statistically speaking. He’s just hot right now.

What I’d give for a LA player to Bergeron him.

20 bux says im right
I’ll bet you or anyone else here 5000 dollars the Oilers win this series.
The other bottom line is that all 3 of these games on the scoreboard have been 1 goal games and close the entire time. The biggest lead for either club has been 2 goals.

People can get upset about all the other things, officiating etc. But the Oilers are NOT separating from the Kings on the scoreboard this season. Not at all. Last season the Oilers won games 2 and 3 by a collective dozen goals. Its not like that this season, and I don't think its going to be like that.

Korpisalo and Gavrikov adds for the Kings were helpful for their lineup. Korpisalo, my take, is he's a goalie that has top game when it matters and he's been a playoff ringer before, and he's doing it again. Its undeniably Korpisalo is being very good.

I'll point out one play as well. McD going right in on net looking for the tuck. Korpis in his crease but stands strong and puts McD on the ice. Not getting past. If that is Johnathon Quick its a goal. If Kings have Quick in net the Oilers are leading this series. It is what it is. Both team improved a lot at TDL. But Kings nabbed a better goalie which is the crucial position in playoff hockey. The Oilers don't have a #1.
Korpi is playing out of his mind, kings using every trick in the book and the Oilers are still dominating the game despite being short handed so often and not really having some of their heavy hitters going yet. It’s the type of situation that turns on a dime where a ream can win 3 or 4 games in a row.

It's 2-1. Win game 4
I don't know if this year's version of playoff Oilers have it in them honestly. Unless McDrai will them to a victory or the rest of our top 6 decides to show up for a game it's not looking good. Which is a damn shame after the season this team had The worst part is LA isn't even that good of a team, but that's the way playoffs go. You don't have time to be making mistakes every single game. This is the time of year they should have it figured out, but they look worse now than they did during the regular season.

The league has stacked the deck for California teams and the Kings in particular for the better part of the last 2 decades, no one should be surprised, they will get the benefit of the discretionary calls. We just have to be better and get more out of our support players, particularly our wingers.

My prediction is next game the refs will give us preferential treatment for one game to make it a little less obvious, right now the penalty called differential is +7 for the Kings on the series I'm guessing they won't want to go above +10 for the Kings cause then it will be a little too glaring.
Imagine getting caved in for a lot of it and having a seven min total lead in three games and being plus 7

Thst is officials looking for shit to call, as seen today

2-1 is not the end of the world against a team who we’ve dominated. If the Kings’ “gameplan” is to continue to let the Oilers control 65% of the chances, shots, and dominate at even strength, let them continue on with that plan. Oilers in 6.

Fake/Fraud/Fixed/Scripted WWE league.

Not worth getting an aneurism over this bullshit.

Kings... enjoy your gifted series from Gary and the refs... you no-talent, whiny, diving bastards.

Everyone knows exactly what is going on and this is a fraud series.

f*** this league.
If this league had any integrity the Kings would have had at least one penalty for diving. If.

It’s a good thing the Kings are a fraudulent team and the only reason they’re up in the series, let alone have a win is because they have the refs in their pockets and Korpisalo is having another Cinderella performance like he did vs the Bolts. Kings will be out once he turns into a pumpkin, hopefully this series

The west is wide open but there seems to be a mandate to make the games closer than they should be. It’s no surprise that two established fanbases are carrying the brunt of “fan growth” for two sunbelt teams with inconsistent fanbases (I suppose the Kings is slightly more so than the Canes).
No disputing Kings are a big deal for the NHL and have been from inception, through to the orchestrated Gretz trade etc. NY/LA themes for pro leagues. Leagues always want to establish a big blue print in those markets. For sure game management is employed. For sure the NHL wants these clubs to have success.

But in hockey teams can still decide the result even against the adversity. In regulation time two calls that imo should not have occurred were the Drai call and the Ekholm call. These are two instances in which threshold of what is normally allowed wasn't crossed. The Nurse call too,

But of these the Drai play was just not required. After the whistle stuff and particularly after a goal. I say that two in mind that Draisaitl has multiple times crosschecked opponent players or gave them some sort of lumber after the Oilers have scored a goal. So the NHL has book on it. Hopefully the NHL not betting on it...

How does the puck possibly change rotation without touching his stick? Like the NHL is so stupid... unreal. The NHL boardroom must be a bunch of blind mfers or uneducated idiots

wakes up--sees oilers lost, checks the board, Refs fault again and not the teams--turns off HFboards due to the usually rants.

If so many of you are sure the NHL is against the Oilers, it is time so sue the NHL for rigging games.

Pretty big-brain stuff to make a comment like without watching the game.

But I'll give you points for not spelling every word wrong for a change.

Amongst all the controversy, anger in post game comments the one guy keeping his head is guess who? Ryan Nugent Hopkins. He could join the parade in making excuses but abjectly doesn't. Even acknowledges multiple times that the broken stick was a penalty, he came down too hard, and that the King had inside position and had beat them to the slot. Nuge saying they need better positioning on that play. Its a broken stick play, in the slot preventing a goal. It gets called.

But I respect Nuge even Keel. Hopefully he does more on the ice. I thought he was better today but he's not getting it done, and like 4 of our players in topsix he's not finishing jack squat.

He was also pretty clearly "not saying" that the refs were obvously garbage. We've outshot them in every game and outplayed them in all of them as well, yet every game we're down in penalties.

Yeah it’s pretty obvious that we aren’t winning the series, it’s just too bad that it has to be happening the way it has with the refs. I don’t mind losing fair and square, but losing TO the refs is another matter.

Completely atrocious.

A couple of things for me...

The first thing is that atrociously stupid penalty by Draisaitl right after McDavid scored to give the Oilers the 2-1 lead. It was after the play...WTF is he thinking?
The Kings got back all the momentum and tied up the game by scoring on the PP.
That one stupid play completely turned the game around.
Absolutely brutal.

The second thing....as much as I cant stand the Kings and their boring as f**k game plan they are an extremely difficult team to play against. They never seem to be out of the game. Its a battle right down to the last minute.

The third thing....there doesnt appear to be any reffing standard so the Oilers have to be much smarter. The Kings are schooling the Oilers in gamesmanship...goading them into taking bad penalties.

The 4th thing...that puck was touched with a highstick. Full stop.
While I blame the Oilers for allowing the game to get to O/T that non call ultimately decided the game.

The bottom line for me...stupid never wins hockey games and this team is playing stupid with these penalties.
When you are playing a goalie thats playing as well as Korpisalo you cant gift wrap opportunities to the Kings. Thats exactly what this team is doing.
I am kind of stunned that after 3 games its still happening and if it doesnt stop it wont matter that they are the better team. They will lose this series.

That penalty by Drais is not called 999 times out of 1000 same with the Desharnais one. The only real penalty we were called on all night was the RNH one in OT. Which we should have been on the PP because of the McD play that happened thirty seconds beforehand, if they're calling the same game as Kostin. It's time for the league to move forward and sit the f***ing refs in the stands. At this point it's not even a question.

I think the Oilers can come back. The reality numerically, that makes it quite a task is that when you're down 2-1 in games you have to win 3/4 of the remaining games. Or 3 for 3 if you like.

The difficulty with that is the Oilers have left every one of the first 3 games to essentially chance.

We need elevation, and we need separation. That ain't easy as long as 4 of our topsix are not mopping up. We need goals.

Not counting empty net Kings have allowed only 8 goals in 3games to the best offensive team in the league by miles. This is what the Kings had to do.

The stuff that I'm not hearing from the coach is that we're essentially playing the Kings series, and the way they want to be playing it and surviving it. Thats gotta change. The only way to do that is pump in some goals.

Man not for opportunity. Korpisalo is lights out. 5 on 5 we've been far superior.

the Kings system is frustrating the Oilers to the point they're taking dumb penalties and are never out of the game

it's boring but effective

All of the penalties tonight save from RNH's were not dumb penalties. they were refs looking for calls. We've trailed 7 minutes in this series, yet we're down 15-8 in PPs that should tell you enough about what's going on.

It's really not though. Sad thing is we don't even need these guys going.

We'd be up 3-0 if we could just stop taking pointless moronic penalties that have no reason to be taken every 5 minutes of every game.

No we wouldn’t, it would be 2-1 at the most.

It wasn’t just that Anaheim series, it was the San Jose series that year too, they just weren’t good enough to capitalize. This series has gone to a whole other level though.
It’s just tough, I’ve actually been a lot calmer watching games because it’s usually the Oilers doing something to cause their own demise.

But when it comes to reffing it probably get me as angry as I can as a person. I know what I see and when a “trained professional “ stands there and do nothing when it happens against the oilers but the moment the kings get touch are go up quicker than ardvidsons did on his dive.

At some point in my life I hope some insider info comes out confirming all of our suspicions, and it’s not just on the oilers FTR.
