Think it may be a decent crowd tonight. Lots of people went to the box office after the USA / Russia game to buy tickets. There was still a sizable queue as I was going in now. I paid $50 for the Grey section which is midway up the top tier.

Embarassing from Montreal. Sorry rest of world, rest of Canada has Much better hockey fans. Cancel it in Montreal forever. They blew it

Did you expect anything else? Montreal isn't a hockey city, it's a Habs city. We've had plenty of other tournaments here in the past, same story.

People really don't care about non Habs related hockey events, unless a famous player (Price playing for TC etc.) is involved.

Montreal hockey fans should be embarassed. This isn't exactly the most exciting Canada team but this is absolutely pathetic for a Semi-Final vs Sweden.

But they aren't embarrassed.

They don't have a team playing. Montrealers could truly care less.

It's been said time and time again from those from Montreal.

Meanwhile this is a holiday tradition for the rest of Canada.

HC should pull all hockey events from Montreal to avoid this embarrassment again

They would rather pay the same price for a meaningless Habs-Hurricanes game.

As someone in a smaller market this gives me some hope that they might come back to Saskatoon/Regina in the future. It's really just Hockey Canada getting greedy, seeing how far they can push their profits at this tournament.

Meanwhile this is a holiday tradition for the rest of Canada.

a holiday tradition created by TSN which the big majority of people in Quebec don't watch.

Habs-Stars on RDS right now
Canada-Sweden is on RDS2

It's time for people to start calling Montreal a hockey mecca. It's just fandom for one team. It's like calling Green Bay a football mecca.

Lets not forget that it's team Canada, if it was team Québec pretty sure quebecers would be more interested. Anyway...
I don't understand why they chose Montréal and Toronto, WJC should always be in small towns.

Seems as though there's still plenty of tickets available for the Gold Medal game, will be interesting to see if it's a complete sell out by tomorrow. My folks scooped up a pair of tickets right after tonight's game for a very reasonable price.

13,456 for a semifinal; 8,000 empty seats.

Ya gotta really wonder if tomorrow's final will be sold out or not.

There's no way there was 8000 empty seats.

Only the tier up in the rafters was missing significant people.

I was down below and in the third it looked liked it was 90% packed in the reds and 2nd tier.

If it was, those 14,000 made way more noise then any Canadiens nhl game. Magical atmosphere.

Kudos to the Swedes that made the trip. Jumping around must've been tiring lol.

There were at leats 15000 thousands if not more. The only empty seats were in the upper deck.

I say 80% capacity.

Tomorrow night it will 100% sold out from the way tickets are going out by the second as I type this post, so let's hope for a rockous Canadian crowd, it will be ROCKING BABY.

The crowd was amazing tonight, the atmosphere was insane, tomorrow will be even better.
