In anime, Ash is finally being replaced as the protagonist. Maybe that means they'll be more like Manga where it's more dark.

... never mind, it's the same thing.

7 star Cinderace raids is interesting. Can probably just use the Azumarill I built for the Charizard.

What do you guys think the next game will be? Will it be a whole new game or a remake?

I’m guessing they will remake one of Gen 1/2/3 and have it open world concept like violet/scarlet.

I'm thinking mystery dungeon or let's go Pikachu 2.

If they're remaking Gen 2, I'm willing to bet they're gonna do another let's go series. No way they make those open world

Maybe we'll get gen 1 and 2 on NSO. I'm not expecting much from this stream.

S/V DLC news seems likely to me.

I think we also get the announcement of stadium on the N64 and maybe the original games for the gameboy virtual console.

Violet and Scarlet expansion just like Sword and Shield - fall and then winter, 2 part expansion. Could be good.

I'm underwhelmed I guess. I was hoping for something else that would be interesting to me.

The Pokemon claymation reminded me of Pingu. It's a weird choice to branch out with.

Everything else seems like a new event with an existing game or an upcoming event... the one exception is Pokemon Sleep which I don't understand at all. Pokemon Sleep. Coming out sometime this year. I'm not sure how it tracks your sleep or if you can game the system and it's entirely reliant on trust.

The card game thing was really well polished and I liked the look of the cards but card games in general are expensive hobbies. I also didn't realize there were mini traffic cones in this trading card game.

I have the same sentiment. I will check out the DLC this time around (skipped sword and shield dlc), other than that underwhelming for me.

I would have loved to see a retro game release for the virtual consoles. Maybe that will be the next time around.

Pokémon has done a long way but can’t deny the last few years have been disappointing. I think it started to god own hill with yearly releases. They shouldn’t be releasing stuff yearly. Work in what you’re doing and when it’s ready release. We don’t need new Pokémon stuff every year.

But what about money

Irregular releases seems to work pretty well for most other franchises.
I was mostly being sarcastic. But I think this is the genuine answer. If they're releasing this many games this quickly (to say nothing of the myriad of spin off games), then the release model is obviously yielding more profits than if they focused on investing in delivering a better product for their player/fanbase. I mean, Pokemon is that kind of giant that is so entrenched worldwide that they could easily afford to invest in quality products and still shit money, but the quantity over quality must be working for them.

That said, I still think S/V are solid. I wish there was more to do in the postgame than online battles, Tera raids and shiny hunting but that content isn't that bad either. Just wish there was an actual battle tower to do offline battles and make pokemon builds worth the time instead of that stupid ass elite trainer tournament. I think there's a good foundation for the next generation to be fantastic, which I couldn't really say about Sword and Shield. At least S/V tried to mix up the formula on the back of the innovations from PL Arceus.

Speaking of, if they did a more fleshed out followup the PLA that could be pretty good, just got so burned out of the same gameplay loop I couldn't bring myself to power through to catch Arceus.

f*** Whitney and her Militank to the grave. f*** her so much. I love how it is able to go first after beating her first Pokemon and uses attract as the first move. It's not even smart AI, just cheating mechanics.
