I don't know about an upgrade, a career minor leaguer took Kuemper's job last season. I still don't trust Rob Blake at all.

Blake took a big swing with the Viladi/PLD trade annd signing and missed. If Kuemper doesn’t work out, his buyout is a lot more doable than PLD’s.

This allows LA to actually have a choice of a long term vs bridge deal for QB. AND maybe have some cap space available throughout the year.

Just crazy the final straw for DL was trading for Lucic after he won the cup a few times a few years prior. We're further away from a cup making worse deals with zero repercussion with a GM that has so much rope for ZERO success he's had.

Name another GM who has hired 4 head coaches and has not won a single playoff round. Not to mention horrible signings and trades. PLD counts as two actually. Horrible trade and signing.
