I wonder why Wiebe was reporting Harkins being involved and where he was getting it from.

Also I feel like a lot of the sentiment that LA is getting raked over the coals in the deal is from overzealous Montreal fans poisoning the well of information on Dubois. Just completely drowning out any reasonable takes on his value. As a Jets fan I'd have been fine with 8.5AAV over 8 years for Dubois.
according to mcintyre his camp wants out of winnipeg and were hoping to be part of a deal so maybe they thought he would be a throw in

Yup... I'd have been OK with 8.5M x 8 for PLD... but I'm also OK with this return. Which means it is probably a good deal for both sides

Good trade.

LA gets a piece who may be a game-changer for them if he hits his potential as a scoring power forward who's a pest to play against and draws plenty of penalties to counter those he takes and finds more consistency overall in his game.

WPG gets 4 pieces who are quality players for know and also potentially team-changing for a team room that has clearly underperformed for long stretches since the glory days of 18-19.

Both sides get lots of what they need.

Now start hoarding futures, Chevy.

Agreed. I would have been fine with that contract. The Kings got the current best player in the deal. He should do well there. We got what we needed and that is good forward depth and a young player in Vilardi with some nice upside.

I'm happy with the return and look forward to seeing them in Jets sweaters this fall.

Now bring on the Helle trade.

Honestly, the fact that Chevy pulled this off without taking back a single bad asset is mind-blowing. GMs are literally praying that their problem contracts would disappear, and Chevy not only manages to move an upcoming 68-million-dollar commitment, but gets quality pieces for it too. That cannot have been a walk in the park.

I was fully expecting a cap dump to come our way, but luckily Chevy decided to do business with the team with actually good cap dumps. No Josh Anderson to us!

Well, it's not Dvorak / Kidney...

I've long felt that back-to-the-wall Chevy is the best Chevy.

The problem is getting his back to the wall.

As a life king kings fan I absolutely hate this deal for la

Vilardi is gonna be a star. He finally came around last year and this kids has sick hands. Amazing creativity. If he stays healthy , he’s gonna be a heck of a player.

Kupari is big and strong and can skate. Why we are tossing him in blows my mind. He’s gonna be a 20 goal guy one day.

This trade makes me sick to my stomach. Absolute over payment

There’s probably other players involved. This won’t be all for PLD only

Too early to say one way or another. PLD may be reinvigorated playing somewhere he wants to be and can dominate at times

I Will enjoy watching you guys beat the oilers this year in the playoffs.
