You've actually made the opposite point.
Yeah but Stevens bombed out in LA, they “got tired” of him after 1.2 seasons. Problem wasn’t the coaches or systems, it was the players. Maybe they were burned out, management should have moved guys around to keep the roster “fresh” because it was a proven and successful system.

Oiler fans already calling out the refs before the series starts. I see some stuff about Kopitar and the Kings getting away with clutch and grab hockey. They dont really know the Kings are not that kind of team.

Has anyone heard if the playoff games will be on ESPN/Hulu/TNT or will the first round games be on local (Ballys) networks?

To be fair, the last game in Edmonton featured Kopitar getting beat by McDavid a few times and he pretty much hugged him once he was beat. I know McDavid or someone did some sort of hug near the end of the game or in OT which everyone here was all over but the Board basically ignored Kopitar doing it more than once.

It was pretty egregious, actually. It's what has me worried most about the series. Kopitar can't hang with McDavid or Drai. If they are split up, Danault can only take on one of them.

Yes,

The first round, every local broadcast will host for the local tv area. However, ESPN and TNT will also be doing a national broadcast. All local games will be blacked out on national games.

For example (hypothetical), BSW will show Kings-Oilers. ESPN may also be showing the game, but if you live in the LA market, you will only be able to watch the BSW telecast. Everyone else in america will watch on ESPN.

Maybe pair up Byfield against McDavid? Byfield's got the speed. I can't wait for this guy to break out. He's got elite shut-down center written all over him.

I don't know about that. The Donato goal last night showed how easily he got out of position and outworked in the defensive zone. Wasn't using his body at all and trying to swing with his stick and missed, forcing him out of position. McDavid would feast on him if that's the defense he would play.

Danault did it last playoffs and I expect him to be assigned to him again this series. That line might be on the smaller side, but they do have the tenacity and speed to skate with the McDavid line.

Hes still young give him time

Danault himself is a nightmare, but that whole Danault line is gonna make McDavid throw a hissyfit. I'd be surprised if he doesn't take a double-minor or major when Arvidsson tries to jump into his pants.

Yeah, I'm much more worried about Draisaitl on his own line, Koptiar cannot hang with him anymore, and that whole line is sketchy on defense.

The one good thing is our 'new' third line with Lizotte should be able to battle their third line with RNH to a relative stalemate.

X-factor MIGHT BE the kids line...

Drai is great. but he's not a superb skater. Kopitar might have the smarts to stay with him still.

Word is Kopitar is using some special training methods in preparation for this series against Edmonton.

Oh no, not the kid line. Those guys need to be broken up. When Vilardi scored last night, I think he was paired up with someone different.

Funny enough looking at the last three games:

the first one, Kopitar won vs. Draisaitl, Danault won vs. McDavid, but the icetime was relatively even;
the 2nd one the icetime was spread--Danault battled McDavid to a stalemate but got absolutely slaughtered by Draisaitl, Kopitar got absolutely slaughtered by Draisaitl and narrowly lost to McDavid;
the 3rd one Danautl battled McDavid to a relative stalemate in possession but 2 GA, Kopitar axe murdered draisaitl but couldn't score.

It does seem like those are the favorable matchups, but it's worth noting that IN Edmonton, it seems like they want the opposite (imagine line matching!)

Interesting as there is another event scheduled for Friday night, 5/6, at Crypto.
Does Kevin Hart really sell out an arena the size of Staples? Maybe he can be moved to the Microsoft Arena next door. They must have contingencies for conflicts arising from playoff scheduling for its tenants.

EDIT to add I went looking for tickets for this event and it appears that YES, Kevin Hart can sell out Staples. I wonder what they'll do here.

Kings home game 1 tickets start at $30 a seat on StubHub right now. Kevin Hart is $39. Both show around 1700 seats for sale, but the Kings tix aren’t GA afaik.

Dan Beckerman will make the Kings play at the MS theater before he asks Kevin Hart to reschedule.

That $30 ticket on Stubhub doesn't actually exist. I know cause I've been trying to find and buy it all day. The lowest ticket is actually about $79 and has gone up since the schedule was set a few hours ago.

For what it is worth.
