Playoff Chase

This was definitely Google translated hahah

I'm bilingual, and this smells exactly like Google translate
:laugh::laugh::laugh:

Close, I used my phone, I have Smart Translator (pre-google) app, handy in Europe, might have been better to use google and flip to my French Keyboard mode...

My French is so rusty, whenever my neighbor needs a good laugh, I try....I did warn his Dad (also an Engineer) last year that I was sure his English is way better than my French, although I was reasonably fluent in in my early teens some 50 odd years ago.

Video game rankings? No way man lol.
They’re just saying that even if he is better than the other guys… it’s not by a material amount.

He’s another guy and we didn’t pay much for him. He also is streaky so maybe you sneak some good games in a row from him.

With Mrazek, it really is just that you know a horrific crash is coming, you just don’t know when

Who did you want us to trade for and what is the price of that? Yzerman can't conference call every GM and say " hey I'm looking for a 2C and 4D anyone got anything like that? Who is also young with term and the asking price is not too much too, thanks" Scott Laughton went for a first! Carlo too! And Gorde! We aren't willing to trade prime prospects for these type of moves to squeak in. Whom are you expecting to be dealt to us that is a player within or core groups age that isn't going to completely gut our pool?
Yzerman absolutely can do that. I would say that is precisely his job when it comes to the trade deadline. To call GMs and find those types of players.

Honestly, with where we are at, i would be fine with dealing a Danielson, MBN, or ASP for some really good player (I don’t know the availability of guys, but if say Elias Petterson was out there). I’m not scared of gutting the prospect pool because eventually we are gonna lose or want to be free of some of these guys we are hoarding

As much as I would hate to lose prospects, if someone like petterson is available for them you gotta pull the trigger. The chance that any of the Wings prospects become the player petterson is are not very likely.

HFboards do overvalue prospects and draft picks.

Yes maybe for Petterson but some are willing to burn prospects and draft capital for Cozens type players. Because we suck. Like hell no...

Good article by Bultman today on the most recent slide and what it means for next year. Anyways, thought this was interesting and gives me some hope for next year:

Digging a bit deeper into the Red Wings’ underlying numbers during the last 10 games, an even more surprising stat rises to the surface: Detroit’s 2.98 expected goals for per 60 minutes at five-on-five is the fifth-best mark in the league in that span. But its 1.98 actual goals per 60 at five-on-five? Fifth-worst.

If Pettersson is available you move a guy like Danielson sure... Kasper and ASP should be off limits.

Considering EP's contract, and how he's played since signing it, I'm not sure what Vancouver can really expect from dealing him. I don't think they want futures, unless they want to just gut the whole thing and start rebuilding.

No.

I’m becoming a broken record here. Petersson is not as good as his contract and I wish people would give up this thought that he’s magically going to score 100 points for Detroit with an even more demanding coach than Tocchet, when he’s trending poorly 2 seasons in a row.

The bum only has 3 assists and is minus 6 in his last 10 games. Hes flat out not as good or consistent as Larkin. He got to 100 points by eating up terrible pacific teams. Now he’s on pace to score 50ish points this year. He seems disengaged for huge portions of every game.

No thank you.

As much as I'm not usually a "play the kids!" guy, this is not the time to for a Lagesson and Shine. Have to try to take a swing with Danielson/Lombardi/Wallinder/Buium/Tuomisto
Wallinder has put his time in the AHL, he 100% deserves a call-up and a chance to play. May as well see how he looks at the next level as opposed to Lagesson.

So who is getting called up in place of Soder and Gus? Might as well call up someone to replace Holl too while we are at it.

Hopefully kids... I know it's a "playoff chase" but they need more than an AHL/NHL tweener to get a spark. They have tried enough depth and energy guys that do absolutely nothing. If the kids falter... so be it.

More AHL players to be inserted into the roster… oh boy, oh boy… definitely not looking good for an already anemic chance of making the playoffs.
