Playoff Chase

My point is that Mrazek doesn’t make the team better. We haven’t won any games because of Mrazek. Hes made some solid saves and also let a few bad goals in. He’s the same level of goalie as Talbot as Lyon. The trade was garbage in for garbage out
Tell our head coach he is starting him again. So him and Yzerman don't think Mrazek is "garbage"...

Video game rankings? No way man lol.
Uh, it’s jsut a way to make the point that he’s not some huge upgrade. The original question was what I wanted Yzerman to do, and I said make a material upgrade to the team. I have zero issue w the Mrazek trade, it’s jsut not anything of substance. I’m not sure what the issue with that opinion is.

I’ve watched all but 2-3 games this year. Not sure what you watched, Mrazek wasn’t close to our best player in any of the games.
Good. I think you should watch and enjoy the games, but you should not under any circumstances analyse or discuss hockey. It is obvious you don't understand much, if anything.

It also means the team believes he gives us the best chance to win. Which is true. And we gave up nothing to get him so I don't see what the problem is?
The team also believe Jeff Petry, Justin Holl, Ollie Mattaa were better than Edvinsson for half of last season

Or that Tarasenko was still a good player

Or that Walman was so bad he needed to be traded with a 2nd

Our management group has made some real blunders over the past year

Yeah - Mrazek is more or less on the same level of Talbot and Lyon...Not bad - not great - just average by NHL standards...Why did Yzerman feel we needed a 3rd??????

Would do you think yourself? What's your guess? Why did Yzerman trade for a goalie who is not better than what we have? I guess nobody on the board considered Mrazek as some huge upgrade over Lyon and Talbot.
I myself thought it was a very dumb trade by Yzerman. I can't remember any poster thought it was a good trade. Maybe I have forgotten.

I mean, it's just opinions, there's no need to be so upset. I would say the exact same back to you if you think Mrazek was our best player in any game, lol.

I honestly have no clue what Yzerman's intentions are...Not kidding...Lalonde is a prime example...Why the f*** he wasn't let go this past summer is beyond me,,,What does Yzerman see that we minions don't?

Tarasenko? wtf?
Letting Ghost/Perron go? wtf?
etc/etc/etc

I will say that I'm happy to see Ed/AlJo/Kasper/etc getting a solid chance (more so with McLellan than that idiot Lalonde).

So they went from Kasper + + to Norris and added a 2nd to boot

Why do you think that is?
Because the guy that actually has scored 35 goals over the course of 66 NHL games carries significantly more value than a kid that is showing some signs of putting it together

I honestly don’t get how some people on here think. Josh Norris has many years of proven NHL success and is still young. Kasper is great but he clearly has less value…especially for a team like Buffalo that needs to start to compete, not obtain more prospects

You have to ask the posters on this board. They defend Yzerman no matter how bad deal he makes. It seems like Copp, Compher, Holl, Husso....signed themselves to this team, not Yzerman. When he trades the top pairing defender for nothing and in addition sends a 2nd round, they say he is making a room for the next big deal. But that deal never happened.

Bringing on Mrazek might be a smart move though.

Who did you want us to trade for and what is the price of that? Yzerman can't conference call every GM and say " hey I'm looking for a 2C and 4D anyone got anything like that? Who is also young with term and the asking price is not too much too, thanks" Scott Laughton went for a first! Carlo too! And Gorde! We aren't willing to trade prime prospects for these type of moves to squeak in. Whom are you expecting to be dealt to us that is a player within or core groups age that isn't going to completely gut our pool?

I hate this line of reasoning so much. The inability of random fans sitting on their couches at home to tell you what trades should be made, with zero inside knowledge of the league, does not excuse the failures of an NHL GM being paid millions of dollars to improve his team.

Just because I can’t fly a f***ing plane doesn’t mean a pilot who crashes it into the side of a mountain wasn’t at fault. Such a ridiculous line of reasoning that’s parroted around here over and over. Justin Holl is a way better hockey player than me but he still f***ing sucks.

FOUR seasons ago.

Since then has point totals of

3 (lol)
30
And might be lucky to get 40 this season

All while being paid $8M/ year

What a strange, strange post.

Norris also has massive injury concerns. I can see how some people would be really turned off by that combined with his contract. I mean, I wouldn't trade Kasper for him (though I also wouldn't have dealt Kasper for Cozens). If I was Buffalo, I wouldn't have dealt Cozens for Norris, either, but would have looked to add to the team in the offseason - especially if they are willing to deal that 1st of theirs.

I also wouldn’t trade Kasper for Cozens or Norris. I agree with you, but it’s not hard to see why Buffalo would value Norris above Kasper. They need to start competing and they cannot afford to keep racking up more prospects, and their GM has publicly said as much.

Yzerman has not "crashed the plane on the side of the mountain" like whatsoever. We are two points out of a playoff spot with great cap flexibility young players pre-prime driving our bus and arguably the best prospect pool in the entire NHL. Your 'line of reasoning' needs more ""questioning" than his...

Yes. But the point is that my inability to have the answer as a casual fan does not excuse Yzermans inability to have the answer. It’s a terrible argument that is based in fallacy.
