Haha, I knew someone would take exception to that.

I suppose #2 has merit. I am just questioning the marginal utility of the extra year from a non-athletic standpoint, is all. It is just more pronounced in the case of a guy whose career path is obviously sports at this point, no matter what kind of student he is.

Education isn't just about utility though.

In college they spend more time on off-ice training/drills which you don't get in an NHL/WHL season's schedule. Patience is a virtue and I like virtuous players.

I think of moments like this and can't help but think what kind of impact BoHo, Bessy, Virt, Hutton etc will have on struggling family's and Canucks Place. Having Boeser learn from Linden on how involved the Canucks are with charity work is priceless. Having BoHo and Boeser lead the way with their strong leader ship bodes well for us fans in the future.

I already see it

Drake convinces Brock Boeser to sign with the Edmonton Oilers down the line

same trope

Dashing hero to be the savour but gets pulled to the dark side

Becomes enemy #1 until at the very end he miraculously has a change of heart and signs here as a UFA, but at that time it's too late and he sucks

can we trade him for not being good enough at convincing caggiula to come here

Talking about me? If so, good news is that Isles are my number 1. Bad news, Calgary is my 2. Don't ask how a kid from Long Island became somewhat of a flames fan, because I sure as hell don't !

without causing too big of a backlash towards me. I think we need to keep in mind he was the 23rd overall pick.I maybe in the minority, but I think some are pumping his tires more then they should be

Nah, he was a steal and our best prospect since Hodgson. Keep in mind Hodgson was the CHL player of the year in 2009, so this is nothing short of amazing

Boeser. He doesn't look that slow to me, plenty of room for improvement but he's not a slug.

He looks slow to me.
But I'vr been optimistic that these reports that he's improving his skating are legit... then I see him eaten up on a breakaway in the frozen 4 final.. and my concerns gets re-lit.

I will wait to see how he does in camp.

I agree, i think skating will hold him back a little but if he improves like Horvat did....oh man sky is the limit for Boeser

I'd say Boeser is Bonino like but hopefully he can find another step by the time he gets to the pros. It's not good that he has not got top end speed but he can succeed with that given the style of game he plays even though he's not a breakaway threat. Hodgson was slug because he was lazy, coasting around or standing still, the only time he would go hard was for a scoring chance. Boeser is better at staying mobile. I think he can be as successful as say Vanek.

He can't attend camp as he's not under contract because of his NCAA commitment. Unless you mean whatever camp after he signs.

He'll be able to attend camp if he pays his own way and I think it was reported that he will be attending this year.

So I'm under the impression he'll be at rookie camp this yr... Wil wait to be corrected.

I think he definitely can play in the prospect games, but not the pre season
