Boeser was always one of the fastest players on the ice? saying stuff like that is a good way to lose all credibility. NHL speed is a legit concern for him.

Boeser honestly did not have to out speed anyone but he can and did from time to time. Some of his goals were speed oriented. Boeser has top end speed and it will only get better with another year at UND.

He simply does not have top end speed.
And we saw an example of that in the championship game... remember the set faceoff play that sprung him for the breakaway?
Got a nice assist on the play tho...

Whenever I watched Boeser I came away thinking his speed is fine but that his first step and edge work needed a bit of refinement. He's acknowledged he needs to work on his skating himself.

I don't think it's too big of a problem.

Boeser's speed is not a concern at all.

People just freaked out because he isn't flying out on the ice during the WJC. Boeser will be fine, especially considering the strides he already took in his skating from the beginning of last season to the end. Again, skating is not an issue at all.

Could he be faster? Sure. Will he be the slowest player on the ice? No.

I always liked the Dany Heatley comparison for him, and Heatley's average skating was always offset by his incredible offensive instincts, which I think Boeser possesses as well.

A line of Tkachuk-Keller-Boeser could be insane at the WJC.

Boeser's first steps are slow but he's a pretty fast guy once he gets going. I really wish there was a way to get him working with Kathy or Barb that didn't violate NCAA rules.

Will be interesting to see how Boeser does with Schmaltz and Caligulla going pro. I believe they were both his linemates for the season.

Indeed they were.. CBS line was the best line in College hockey allong with CCM for mich.. Boeser will be playing most likely w Tyson Jost , a sleeper top ten pick and some combo of Austin Poganski (Blues pick) Rhett Gardner (draft eligible. 6th rder prolly) or Shane Gersich (Caps pick a few years ago)

Me too. Glad someone else brought it up. He has that elite shooter feel to him that I got when watching Heatley.

As far as NHL comparisons go I personally see Boeser developing into a Tyler Toffoli type player for us in a few years, so yea high hopes for this kid.
