Brown hitting the most games played by a king and Kopi with his thousand games. Dave Taylor was everywhere to be seen on FSW and Kings social media talking about drafting Brown and Kopi, they had a vision of drafting these guys blah blah blah.
What's so weird about that? He was the record holder. He drafted them.

what on earth makes him think porky is gonna leave russia now? for a one year elc? at 25?

He has to sign a 1 year ELC to play in the NHL next year. 925k salary plus performance bonuses, I have no idea what he's earning in Russia so no clue if that would actually be enticing or not.

Saying he was a natural leader and they loved his leadership qualities when they scouted him etc was over the top. Brown was a quiet dude his first couple years and got bullied in the locker room under Taylor’s helm as GM.

So Brown manifested leadership qualities spontaneously after Taylor stopped being the GM?

No, don’t think he’s a great leader. That’s been overblown by so many people.

What would be a great leader? Brown handles the media well. He doesn't throw people under the bus, but is unafraid to evaluate their performance. He was vocal on the bench. He believes in leading by example and carrying confidence. He's had success at it and he won an award for it.

here is a fun little fact: only arizona had a leading scorer with fewer goals than us. brad richardson (wtf) and alex galchenyuk tied with 19 goals on the season. we technically tied with ottawa (brady tkachuk scored 22), although mark stone had 27 before he was traded to vegas. brown and kopitar finished with 22 a piece.

brown had 22 goals in 72 games, kopitar had 22 in 81, kovalchuk had 16 in 66.

woof.

Marchessault has scored the most points for the Knights this season (59). Granted, they traded for Stone who has more points overall in the season, but we can see how lack of depth and structure affects a team.

Well this leaves only two options...trade or get waived.

You’re ignoring the possibility of moving Carter back to wing. This does create a giant hole at center, but that would exist if Carter stayed at center anyway. I’m not convinced Carter can play 2C next year.

IF the Kings win the lottery and draft Hughes, I could see Carter on his wing and taking face offs.

If you watch the video of Brown being drafted, Bob McKenzie immediately starts talking about how Dustin Brown is someone who is seen as a future captain. I don't think its over the top that the Kings loved his leadership qualities, he was absolutely known for that in his draft class

Agree. Remember him being touted as a future captain right from the draft.

Vilardi.

Thoughts on Brendan Leipsic?

I'd take him over Lewis for the bottom six winger role. Guy is speedy and pretty crafty.
