Such a bad look

Maybe if they were fighting for a spot until the last day, and gave everything they had in a losing effort in game 82. These guys have been making their offseason plans for weeks/months. It's always a job, but this year, playing hockey in a Kings jersey was nothing but a job. Well paid gentlemen play golf after work.

With Muzzin gone, I’m sure Juice is gunning for the top golfer spot on the team. It’s better to see them enjoying themselves on the links versus reading about a player getting caught with a banana hammock full of molly at wet republic.

This is what losers do in April.

Somehow, I think a better picture would be these 3 guys in the gym since the team basically took the year off anyway. Smiling on the golf course when you will be noted for being on a team that finished with one of their worst records is kind of a bad look.

Crap...there goes Plan A. Hope Blake has Plan B and Plan C ready to implement.
The Kings cannot get better, with having these 4 on opening night roster: Carter, Toffoli, Lewis, Phaneuf. 2 in that photo should be ex Kings soon.
You could add McDavid and could not make the playoffs, if those 4 are on opening night roster.

I know some of these guys are embarrassed enough about their production that they dedicate themselves to hitting it hard over summer. The whole good year/bad year rotation with this team has been going on a while now.

My big fear with that is they might have an overachieving year which would give the false impression of where this team is at the moment. Whatever happens, I hope Blake holds the course. I don't care if this team is first in the conference in November, you still make the moves that have to be made.

To be fair, Blake has been holding the course and not making any risky moves since taking over. He hasn’t traded away 1st rounders or significant draft picks. And the Kovy signing is a no issue since it didn’t cost us draft picks or prospects and his cap hit is irrelevant since we won’t be competing the next 2-3 years.

Some may point to the potential Muzzin/Patch rumored trade, but we still don’t know if this was true or the full details. A lot of rumors are wrong, as we see with Carters comment today that he never threatened to retire.

Now they want a coach that will kick their ass?

These guys are something else.

Basically, we will not put in the effort if you give us too much rope. Fascinating since these guys know what it takes to win the whole thing but can't muster that effort without being prodded.

Can you imagine putting in a terrible YEAR at your job and then saying "well, I'm not happy about my year...and I need a new boss that will push me to do better"
I have owned a biz since 2006 and have had lackluster employees. If one of them said something like this, I would instruct my Office Mgr to cut their final check.

I hope it inspires Blake to trim this crap now. Don't just need the right coach, need to get rid of some of these bums.

So stupid. Hold yourself accountable you clown.

And a coach to light a fire under them? Todd isn't that guy. He's a players coach.

I think a lot of these players realize what a bad season they had and that they are at fault for whatever reason (laziness, lack of talent etc). I think they are aware that the roster will change next year and they may be traded. I wouldn’t be surprised if it will be a breath of fresh air to move out of the Kings and have a fresh start somewhere else.

They are probably to ashamed to say “I need a coach that will force me to play”. Instead, they are saying it indirectly.

Even though DD had a bad year, I don’t think he gave up or was lazy. He is a competitor. His comment was probably a shot at the other vets for giving up.

Some day the Bad Year / Good Year switch will no longer function. For most of these players, it will be sooner rather than later.

Someone said WD was Luc's and Beckerman's hire...so not sure if WD was Blake's choice.
Not sure I believe this, but for the Kings sake going forward, I want to believe this. #FIRERobitaille
