So, then do it.

It doesn't start until they're here. We signed Pickering, his hasn't started.
Entry level slide applies to juniors. Unless Ilyin and Murashov come to the US and play in the AHL, you'd be burning their ELCs since they can't go to juniors. And neither is likely to come over next year.

Well then why not sign Yager? If he's not signed by next year he can re enter the draft. Unlikely but I'd rather get him under contract. Although we're up to 48.

Yager is AHL eligible next year. They'll sign him and some others on the reserve list this summer after contracts come off the books.
Yeah, we are at 48 of 50 contracts. If we are wanting to make moves at the TDL, might be better to hold off on signing guys that we know aren't going to be of use to us this year.
I thought he had a disappointing regular season (but he did come back from a major injury). But this news is nice.
He's in the VHL right now. I can never remember which league is higher, the MHL or VHL. It's like the AHL and ECHL. If he had a meh season in the "ECHL" then...meh.

Pens will move contracts after this year. Yager and a couple others will be signed. Pens have to get a big-time prospect on the Jake deal, then draft top 10 this year. Those who are concerned SJ gets an unprotected pick next year of Pens keep this year's pick have to consider the picks a Rust, Karlsson and maybe one more brings back after next season. Pens are in the beginning here as to replenishing the ranks here. Dubas has Poulin, Pickering, Broz, a couple Russians and and Yager as pieces to work with. Add in the return from Jake, pick and high end prospect and next years adds and at least one can see some decent to good prospects in the system.

I really think that based on production alone he’s AHL-ready at least. Getting him over wouldn’t be easy though.
Wouldnt be the worst thing to leave him there for another year. Hopefully by then the situation is a bit better.

It's more like the juniors as opposed to the ECHL.

MHL = JRS
VHL = AHL
KHL = NHL

The Russians stay for another year. Pens can open up enough contracts as Dubas will continue to purge the system to make room for players they see as future contributors. I do sign Broz, maybe RD from college,
