I am old school here. He needs to mature and get S&C program here. He has the skill but the grind just kills these guys. Pens going nowhere so let him add the strength and development to be here in a couple. He can be a very good RH center which with Poulin and whoever they draft next couple of years is the retool Pens have to do.

Poulin’s gonna be 26 by the time he gets a chance with this staff.

We desperately need Yager to be in the NHL in a top six role next season…
Why? I'd prefer he develop a bit longer. There's no hurry as this team isn't gonna contend for five or six years. Well, Unless he absolutely kills it in the interim.

Most relevant quote from the article from Dubas, "To make the under-20 national team as an 18-year-old is a great accolade. Our hope is that this experience propels him to go have a strong impact on Moose Jaw, help them win in the second half of the year, and then he starts to put himself in consideration as a 19-year-old to really make a push through the summer and fall to see if he can find his way onto the Penguins.”

Well that's nice. There is ZERO reason he shouldn't be invited to camp next September. Then if he earns the spot, he earns the spot. If not, to the AHL he goes (because I believe he's eligible).

Should Yager make the team next year, he'll come in hot with something ridiculous like 10pts in his first 12 games. Then the rest of his season will mirror 18-19 Nichushkin in Dallas as Sullivan gets him to "play the right way."

He’ll get 5 min a night on L3, not produce, everyone will declare him a bust and Sullivan will have him shipped back to Wilkes lol

Prob 12 pts in 10 gms, followed by demotion to 5 min per game with no production, then WBS so Harkins (re-signed to 1 yr $1.6m) can play the next 72 games and rack up 3 assists.

“I really like Harkins game. He has a defensive conscience and he’s great on our PK”

He changed 3-time Norris winner so yea he'd almost certainly change a kid that hasn't even had a chance to play yet

For real. I f***ing dread Sullivan's job lasting through Sid's retirement and that dude and his ego being in charge of shaping the game of the next crop of high end prospects. Yeesh.
my kid thought the same thing, then he had a chance to meet and talk to the guy. he came away thinking he was great. the sully voodoo is strong.

Reportedly a very impressive person and speaker…thought this was a sports team, however, and that results matter…silly me lol

I could honestly see Sullivan in a management position, though maybe not here, and doing well. As a coach for this team he may be near the end of his rope but he’s a pretty smart guy that seems to know what he wants and how to build a team. Frankly I think he had a lot of say in the moves JR made that got us 2 Cups.
