Pitlick played well for us last year in a tank year but this year is not really a tank year and his play is not that great (like Dadonov). Sorry Pitlick but performance is how we decide.

Who cares. Hoffman, Drouin, Pitlick, Dadonov, Armia. Some are playing better than others but we owe nothing to them. It's business
I think he had more of an opportunity last year. Played more minutes, PP, played top 6. Kind of like Byron did early on. I wouldn't fault the guy for getting dropped from the top 6 or even top 9 this year because of the glut of wingers.

This is the NHL. You don't get self appointed top 6 min's season to season. Especially for a guy like Pitlick. Show up to camp and perform and MSL will give you opportunity.

Yes, Pitlick played more min's and higher in the line-up last year in a tank season. So did Hudon in a previous tank season. Even if Pitlick is slightly better, what loyalty does the team have towards players like this to automatically place them in a top 6 role season/season?

Byron actually has value when he is not producing points. Pitlick doesn't. He's not a fully matured 200' player and this is how MSL is looking at it. Hoffman is not putting up points but he's actually not turning it over in key situations this year (for example) and it's likely why MSL said he likes his game.

Not unexpected. If he gets claimed, we save cap space. If he doesn't, he'll definitely be a help in Laval. Might find his game again down there. I expected a set back, but the stupid neutral zone penalty he took in his last game was it for him.

Can't take dumb penalties like that when you're not contributing.

That kinda sucks. I imagine he’s taken.
Wish we found a way to get rid of Drouffman instead but 🤷🏻‍♂️

Hoffman, Drouin, Pitlick, Dadonov, and even Armia are hard to move. Hughes can likely move them now but in any agreed trade, we get a roster player back with a similar cap hit (maybe not the same term, but sim cap hit) Cap space is a big problem cause if you want a team to take on a contract and not send one back, we have to pay a future.

Totally agree with the last part. He's earned his way down in this case. He can blame others but if he has good character, he looks within himself and what he did/didn't do and works hard at improving it.

Claimed on waivers or not, we save his cap hit. His AAV is pretty close to what amount you can burry in the AHL on one way contracts.

They should collectively be known as Dandruff. Nobody likes to have dandruff.

"Head and Shoulders" below the rest of the forwards in performance?

If he is claim I hope it is by a team below us and he can help them get a few extra wins.

Nah... He's not going to help teams win games with how he turns it over. His point totals last year are an indication of flawed evaluation on a winger.

That sucks, I was a fan of Pitlick. I know he wasn't playing great but I was hoping we were going to be more patient with him.

Guys like Drouin, Hoffman, Dadonov and Gallagher (if his contract would permit) all deserved to be waived before Pitlick.

Not really, though. He had 16 pts in 29 GP under Ducharme for a .55 PPG pace. He had 21 pts in 37 GP under MSL last year for a .57 PPG pace.

He did well under Ducharme. However, he still did better under MSL last year.

It's this year that things haven't been going well for Pitlick. But after his pre-season, you'd think he'd carry over last year to this season. I felt he and Evans were such a great duo at camp and that was encouraging for the 4th line.

Okay okay...I'll change it to he did AS WELL as....I dare you to find another one...:D

I'm not saying he should get a top 6 spot. He's not going to crack that and he wasn't going to get the same opportunity this year that he had last year. He looked better last year because of the circumstances. Most people were singing his praises last year. Now, after 5 games on the 3rd or 4th line, everyone hates the guy? I think he's just simply lost his spot because of the numbers game. It doesn't mean he's a bad player.
I'm not against them waiving him.

Not my least favorite player by any means but his production was always somewhat empty and he was very bad so far this year. Good luck to him though.
