According to Rutger, he's already NHL ready

He's a 14th overall pick going into his D+3 season, plays forward and spent 2 seasons at a top college program, putting up 52 points in 36 games last season.

I didn't watch him all that closely this past season, but that seems like a resume for an NHL-ready prospect.

A 1:1 value wise does make sense but the Penguins really like Yager so I just don't see it. I don't think you get that value from a kid that's asking out.

Just on position, you would value C or D over a Winger. So, you'd have to really like Rutger's game to move one of those more valued positions for him.

McGroarty is going to be our 3C playing 15% o zone starts.

4C getting 6 minutes per game, then benched because he's not scoring at a 50 point pace getting no playing time.

Yager has been really good. I feel he's got more upside than Rutger but is less NHL ready.

McGroaty is a better prospect than Yager but I was really hoping to have both. Hard to complain from the Penguins POV though and I think this is about as good of a return as Winnipeg could get.
