Hes absolutely not caught up with the speed of the game. I isolated him when watching and he skates a lot of circles while chasing the player/puck. Not assertive, not confident, not quick on his feet. I know some will say that he was injured, but the bottom line is that he is hurting that line, and being that this is a playoff team, whats best for him and the Rangers is that he sits down.

Kreider scoring 50 is amazing. Home grown 50 goal scorer in 2022. Wild.

Decent game, played them pretty tightly but just need to clean up the details. Need to get the PP going if we ever want to beat them in a series, they're so swarming at 5v5 it's really suffocating.


We REALLY need Shesty to get back to his earlier form from this season. The team is playing better now but it's being a bit off set by him just being okay and not really great.

Carolina handed the Rangers their lunch in the 3rd period.

Seth Jarvis is a very impressive player. Carolina had him on the ice on the 4 on 4 in the middle of third period. Not bad for a player who just turned 20.

Carolina is a very good team. They lost in the conference finals to Boston in 2019. Lost to Boston in the bubble. They beat Nashville in the 1st round last season. They lost to TB.

Sometimes you have to lose in order to win.

Drury's #1 priority in the off season is finding a better partner for Fox to play with. Lindgren's had a nice run here but he's a bottom half defenseman. He's weighing Fox down. Fox needs a big strong stay at home partner.

We played them really tight, could've gone either way. One way or the other we proved that we're not a pretender tonight.

Laf and Kakko played 10mins each but led the team by a mile in PCAHTS/60 posts-complaining-about-how-they-suck (also in xG%).

Miller was unbelievable in that third period.

IDC what anyone says, Panarin-Strome-Copp has never been a good line.

Lastly, Kreider 50 goals. IDK about you guys but that moment was surreal for me. It all dawned on me at once how miraculous that number is. What an amazing year for a player who has been so underappreciated by fans across the league, including his own team, for many years!

Rare bad game for Igor, Canes raised their level of play after the first, and we didn't match it. Congrats to CK20, but overall extremely disappointing.

They're not fast enough to beat teams with speed and not aggressive enough to wear them down with grinding.

Fox is going to get eaten up in the playoffs. They're gonna lean on him like he's Brian Leetch and he's just too slow and defensively limp to take any sort of sustained pounding.

If they're gonna suck noodles at playing actual hockey, Kakko and Laf should at least get a good dump and chase game going. Help the team. They won't.

Shesty + special teams is their ticket. Uninstaaled has it right.

When is a good time to be worried that the third line is gonna do absolutely nothing offensively with kakko and Laff? The top 6 isn't being changed so what do we do?

Need to bring back the Chytil and Brodzinski magic.

played a decent game, KAM is a freak.

struggle for KAM at times last couple of years, but you can’t give up on athletes like that. He’s really putting it together, happy for him.

At 1-0 we had plenty of opportunities to put this game away. Igor letting in that bonehead goal than not making ONE big save in the third (really needed that breakaway which he stop 9 out of 10 times) just not good enough. Not winning a game like that with that performance from him. Carolina doesn’t bring much offensively. Shouldn’t have had 3 goals on 25 shots

Kreider with his 50th makes this easier to swallow. Also got a few glimpses of what KAM can and probably will evolve into.

We played well but the Canes made the right adjustments in the 3rd. Tieing goal probably shouldn't of happened but the refs scared shitless of roid rage rod and didn't call the cross check to the face. Oh well.

Watching KAM makes me so happy for him yet so depressed about Kakko and Laf at the same time.
Remember when the world was "laughing" at KAM at the WJC when Laf scored that beauty of a goal? They aren't even in the same ballpark right now in terms of impacting a game

Chytil can barely handle NHL pace and physicality. I can’t imagine him suddenly switching his gear in the playoffs. He doesn’t have the mentality or game right now to be effective

Kakko is just so meh nowadays. His defensive game has completely disappeared this season as well. Despite him being one of my favorite players I don’t think he should be in our playoff lineup. And I’m someone who thinks he was our best forward last time around. He’s just not a useful NHL player right now. Doesn’t create/forecheck/score/hit and isn’t standout defensively anymore. Just likes to spin around in corners whenever he’s lucky enough to touch the puck in the offensive zone
