Glad to know that Smith or Michkov will turn out to be sucky players.
I don’t think those players will be picked by the habs.

I listened to the NHL station on Sirius all weekend when in the car, and watched NHL Network on tv at home. They had tones of guests with their mock drafts, and Bedard, Fantilli, Carlson, and Smith were the top 4 picks (some had Columbus taking Smith). Smith isn’t going to be there at 5. Only Michkov.

Out of all the guest I think only 1 had the Habs taking Michkov, cause he is high risk. All the rest had them taking, Leonard, Reinbacker, or Dvoraky.

Jets have huge need for Spence… RHD is a bigger need in WPG than any LW, LD or bottom 6 anything
I would agree, but given Spence's age and waiver status, he's unlikely to be the answer. We have three expensive RHDs already, and at least two of them will be around when Spence begins to need waivers to be sent down. That's not something we need more of, with Chisholm and Heinola also being in the same boat. If Spence was younger, then yes.

I don't think anyone knows. And I also don't think Chevy will wait to see if habs get a C at 5.
I find it funny today it's come out that habs are interested in michkov.
There's little doubt, caps, philly and preds have contacted hughes for 5.
I could absolutely see habs moving that pick to phlly for 7 and 22 - so they're guaranteed one of three you mentioned.
They would probably then package some variation of 22,31 and 37 to move up

Similar to what happend with Chychrun last year.
Blake will talk but he has his parameters and he won't be led outside the box.
Rumors only help Blake with Vilardi.
Gabe's already telling his agent come down in price or you are fired if I get sent to Pegs.
Problem is the "French Connection" part deux with Brisson, Bergevin and Luc all eating croissants.

Mayyybe, I consider trading Dubois for Laine and Roslovic.

It would be interesting, but I just don’t think the Jackets go down that road again. The Detroit thing makes a lot of sense considering his age and they can offer a nice package.

They're from the poutine part of the French world, not the croissant part.

I haven’t heard anything about the habs being back in on Michkov, thanks. Everyone was already penciling Arizona in for Michkov. They said the Coyotes aren’t worried about the risk of Michkov like Montreal is. Arizona have had talks it Philadelphia, and Washington about moving up. In that case they will get help right away to move down a spot or 2. If they do take Michkov they don’t have the pressure for him to produce or even show up. If it doesn’t work in Arizona they trade him in 3 years to Washington for a boatload. If he isn’t taken by Montreal and becomes a franchise player, the fans will burn down the city.

You don't trade Vilardi for PLD it doesn't make sense depth wise. You trade a Iafallo or maybe Arvi but not Villardi. Vilardi can play center or wing. Teams need depth to go far in the playoffs, you don't trade a Vilardi.
I’m really torn on this one. I LOVE Gabe and my whole family are Gabe supporters. But PLD can also play both wing and center. But then Gabe only has one year of being who we thought he’d be. But then PLD has a history of wanting out when he’s not happy so I’d need to see him be willing to extend with a Limited no trade clause . I’d be willing to give up Arvy, Iafallo and/or even Kaliyev for the cap space to have both Gabe and PLD. I think that Grundstrom and Fagemo could take Iafallo and Kaliyevs spots for much less. Arvy is a pure pleasure but he’s also a luxury who we will not be able to resign once he hits UFA. I do think we could get PLD without Gabe.

The trade with LA isn't as close as people think.

See what Lebrun, Basu, Seravalli & Dreger are all saying...

It's possible they can come to an agreement, but as of now they haven't even talked contract.

Also, how often is that full trades leak?

If the trade was done, the insiders would have said 'Here is the deal, it's done pending a contract put in place'.
I just hope this trade is announced in the next 3 days so fans of Mtl, LA, and Win can finally put their guns down. If it’s not done by then and we don’t hear anything, there’s something deeper going on.

When this saga end? I thought it was over yesterday. Can't PLD and LA agree on a new contract already?
