Turcotte is probably too much of a risk medically at this point. JAD or Spence are more likely options.
Not Spence, I don't think. It would be one of the waiver eligble forwards like JAD. A player that is redundant and at high risk of being lost on waivers.

Are we all thinking the same thing. Somehow Vegas got their nose in here and are going to thwart any potential trades Winnipeg tries.
That would be peak Vegas. Chevy will respond to this affront by only half-hearting his congratulations to Vegas while wholeheartedly thanking Nashville for the hospitality and making his 1st round pick

The Jets have little need for Spence anyway. He's a good prospect, but the Kings clearly need him much more than we do, so it's unlikely that he's involved.

You missed the "if things went off the rails" part of the tweet.
you missed what dreger actually said.
I am aware of that but he signed the contract after scoring 36 goals.
If PLD scores even remotely in that range he can ask for 6 mill.
For 9 mill he better scores 90+ points
So what you are saying is that a player (kempe) that took 8 years playing as a pro and averaging 30 points a season is worth 5.8m when he finally breaks out when he is at the age of 25-26, but a player (Dubois) who has put up double the numbers as Kempe at the same age ( under 25) with constant 60 points season, is not worth way more?

Pagnotta's audio interview on TSN this morning said he thinks the framework of an LA deal is done. It's the PLD / LA contract we're waiting on.

He mentioned 3 assets going from the Jets and 4 coming from LA (Vilardi, Iafallo, "another young forward" and possibly a draft pick).

I'm speculating Harkins from the Jets because I think it was Freidmann or Ken Weibe that said that, and maybe Logan Stanley?
Kings get Dubois, Harkins and Stanley

Jets get Vilardi, Iafallo, Pinelli/Kupari and the Montreal 2nd rounder in 2024.

Just sign that 8 year extension Dubois!!!!!

Goals are great. Assists matter too. Kempe had a career high of 54 points in 78 games and is 2 years older than PLD and plays a less important position. Looking like a great contract now too.

Even if PLD only hits 70 points consistently going forward that will be a fair contact with the cap going up, because when he's on he's exactly what Kings fans love. If he hits 90 points it'll be a great contract.

Contracts are going to get f***ing stupid in a few years. GM's have been unable to massively overpay UFA's for a few years now

The trade details leaked by some guys, but that had to be figured out first before negotiations were allowed. Once they agree on a trade, then they start negotiating the contract. That's happening now.

Could still not happen, but usually the details don't leak so specifically, just "rumors they are talking" so it seems to be taking longer than normal.
They leaked every player involved

I accidentally opened a really old tab the other day and it was a pre-game report for an upcoming Jets game. It said PLD had 41pts in 38gp to that point, which seems like on pace for about 85. There was a pretty noticeable decline in the number of F's given/60 by the whole team around that time, so it's not so surprising to see that his numbers fell off in the 2nd half.

I would say 70-80 on a good team in a place he's happy to be in is a pretty reasonable bet. Really wouldn't be surprised to see 90+ once or twice in his career, though.

So let me get this straight.
Dubois tops off as a 70 pt player and you think that is worth 9 mil a season?
