Can't wait to see how the Danault's line responds tomorrow agains't the Canucks. Would be nice if they continue where they left off and one of the other 3 lines contributes to a victory.
That's the feeling I have for next game.
Don't quote me tomorrow lol

He's played with Gallagher for so long, I'm sure it wasn't simply a blind pass.
Did you know sharks have an electro-magnetic sensor? They can feel if there is a fish hidden behing a rock. Maybe there will be a study in the future saying humans have a little of that. Recent studies says we have sensors all over our skin to detect bad food. But one thing for sure, Danault must know after those years where Gally will be on the ice, like a twin brother.

Agreed.

And even if he didn't know for sure, 'in front of the net' is a pretty well-informed guess.

Love him or hate him, he's still very important to the team.

Anybody else notice that he gets tossed out of the faceoff circle at least 5 times every game? That's gotta change a bit.

As much as I've been critical of him recently, I'm happy for him. He needs a strong second part of the season!

People knock him,but until this season,he has been dependable. The game was his best this year and his line was impressive, logged the most SOG's. Even Armia looked like he was better and much more noticeable and involved.

Let’s not exaggerate his impact because of his goal. He hasn’t been good this season and even last night, was only 42% on faceoffs and took a needless penalty that could have shifted momentum in a big way if the Canucks scored. 1 pointless goal when the game was over doesn’t absolve him.

Holy captain bring down. But every point you make is 100% true :(

I won't talk for others, but for one I was having problems with his usage moreso than his play. Like you said he's been dependable, but dependable is what I want from my 3rd line center not my 1st line center as he was the last few years. And some Montreal fans ate the BS from the media comparing Danau1t to Bergeron/O'Reilly/Kopitar.

I've said it for the past 2 years and will continue to say it, as long as he was in our top 6 we had no realistic chance to compete with the best teams in the league. We see it now as Suzuki and Kotkaniemi leaped him and they're only 20, 21.

To be fair, the options were very limited and Habs were going no where and the kids needed to learn and be sheltered when they should have probably not even been playing in the NHL

It's Montreal, most players are usually propped up more than they should.

The monkey is OFF his back!! Time to get it going now Phil!!
We need his line to get it going no matter who is on the wings!
If the guy can now accept his role, the contract crap will play itself out....

Oh totally agree, and he was the perfect "sacrificial pawn" to be the 1C for a time. In my case I was critical of him in response to the insane praises he was receiving, and people even wanting to trade KK or Suzuki at one point because we had "too many centers", or some that wanted to lock Danauilt at whatever price he wanted, which is plain dumb.

Ehh not the majority obviously but a year or 2 ago I remember some talks about Suzuki/KK being traded (to be fair for a 1st LD which is a big gap too). The main argument being that we had "too many top centers" with KK/Suzuki being elite, Danault being 1C caliber, and Poehling becoming the best 3C in the league. According to that line of thought, we had too many riches and had to trade one. Obviously it was a lot of speculation riding on everyone attaining their ceiling really fast, and it died down quick too but I did see it in a few trade propositions.

He must be injured right? His effort last night was laughable. Zero willingness to engage and contributing nothing.
