Sorry...it's part of the story here. Whether you agree or not.

I value Danault alot...wish there was a way this team could keep him moving forward, but THEY'VE created the market that he's currently seeking.

For what he's making today though...that's great, and that's why I hope the Habs can keep hi this year, go on a deep run and see where the chips fall in the offseason as it relates to potentially re-signing him.
Great! Can't wait to see this team without Danault keeping it afloat.

He got lucky by having one bad season despite having a couple good ones? It's more probable that he is unlucky in this half of a season rather than him being lucky for multiple seasons in a row.

Do you think hes an elite playmaker? Because thats where the last two years put him. Do you think Tatar is a 80 points player? Because thats where the last two years put him.

Chose wisely.

Danault On-ice 5v5 is 12-7

Even strength (13-11) is a skewed stat nowadays because of 3v3. Danault shouldn’t play a minute in OT, doesn’t have the appropriate skill set.

6-3 he was referencing is the on-ice 5v5 of Tatar-Danault-Gallagher as a line.

5v5 :

Danault +5 (playing top lines)
Suz +4
KK +5

So were moving goalposts. Even strength is even strength. If he cant shutdown lines at 4v4 or 3v3, maybe its because he cant shutdown lines at all.

Also its not like KK benefits from the 3v3 lmao.

The recipe of “Danault eating minutes against top lines” and Suz/KK’s line dominating other lines worked, in aggregate this year.

Danault is not to blame for Weber/Chiarot being the most penalized Dmen and Pricer allowing soft goals. These are the real culprits

With a normal production he has like 2-3 goals at this point in the season. It’s not the game changer
Please don't give me another infraction but the guys has no idea how the game is being played while thinking he's better than Julien and everybody in the world!

Call him 1-2-3 center I don’t care, but as long as he’s as he puts up positive goal differential playing the top lines of the top-heavy North division...he will get the most minutes 5v5 and I’m okay with that.

I'm amazed at how much you value finishing 22nd overall.

Jeez lol
Dude, you seem like a smart guy but it's crazy how you can't grasp basic stuff... last couple of years it was not Danault's fault this team sucked it was the rest of the team that sucked...

That line was one of the best lines in the league at 5on5 ....

The rest of the team...

Anyway, again... that is not the point. Even with that line being so good, the team sucked, as a whole, they did not make the PO and were bottom feeder.

Danault has DEVELOPED into one of the league's best 2 way players.

How did this happen?

AHL. He joined the NHL full time at 23 years old in 2016-2017 and was put with Pacioretty/Radulov playing 15-16 minutes a night (Pleky was still around for defensive duties). He had played 53 NHL games before that...

Firstly...your characterizations of me, don't mean shit to me, good or bad. So suggest you stick to the topic rather then focusing on the individual.

Secondly...I never said it was Danault's fault, but you like to present it in a way that danault is keeping this team afloat by himself.

So if you want to give him all the credit...you gotta be willing to accept he's responsible for all the blame.

Can't have it both ways.

So how you wanna carry that?

ouin! Cest koi ton point? Why the Danault hate? Je catch pas serieux....

Correct...so consider Kotkaniemi's last 2 years with the Habs the equivalent to Danault's time in the AHL if you want.

Doesn't change the argument.

Phil is a passenger right now, with ZERO goals, and 8 helpers....so don't think we can give Phil any credit for keeping things afloat, this year, or years past since we sucked for the past 5 years.
Everyone knows Phil is one of the best 3rd line centres in the league. Everyone but Phil, he keeps thinking he is more than he is, and the proof is just not there.

Again that's just in your head
Ducharme put them together not because I told him to do it!

That line is buzzing, ca va debloquer one day....

It was not Danault's fault, one day you'll realize I hope!

Most people would agree with that actually. But not being at fault doesn't automatically make you part of the solution either.

Ice time and opportunities are limited resources, constantly feeding these resources to Danault doesn't do the Habs much good when it come to winning hockey games.

Mon point, est que l'équipe est mauvaise avec ou sans Danault, tu agis comme si Danault est la seule chose qui l'empeche d'être mauvaise.
Nah bro, Danault cest la piece maitrese pour le dev de suzy et KK , how can't you see it ca m'echape! We, are at game 22 , who said that at game 56 we will not have KK/Suzy/Phil/Ryan as centers? respire/breathe

And in spite of all of this ..

What's the Habs record vs the Leafs this year?

Yep not disputing that at all, but I don't think that's a PD issue. Him and his line did his job there. If you would tell me, we can keep AM34 off the goal chart 5 on 5, I would take that every night. If we ever get to playoffs, I would hope we can keep doing that.

However, we can absolutely try and develop some of other guys in this situation and see what happens, we already have suzuki playing the Tavares line, maybe bump him up and see what happens. We can definitely go the route of developing our guys that way.

Really just depends what we want out of the habs this year and what direction they take for the future. If we are actually in this sarcastic all in mentality that has been suggested, we go about it the same way. IF we build around our new core, then yes, unleash the kids and see what happens. That's not on PD or the kids, that on management and the coaching staff

Maybe in NHL21, because it's not the case in real life.
