But here's the problem Jojo.

I don't support American Oligarch and Russian puppet Elon Musk. Threads/replies are not a thing in my life anymore lol

I deactivated my professional account. I get it. And now when I post a screenshot here, someone always mistakes the infosec.exchange Mastodon logo for a porn site named after a small furry animal. I’ve given up even trying to explain.

In this case, you’re probably going to have to choose between the two though.

I think you have your answer after his last two playoff runs.
Any advanced stats that somewhat give a player’s value in the playoffs, like batter’s stats vs top of the rotation pitchers the first 2 times through the lineup, vs top relievers, and such?

I'm sure they exist but I suck at locating advanced stats. I can understand them, but finding them for me is the battle lol.

To be clear I don't judge anyone who still uses the platform. It's very important for news and updates. Really it's still the best place. I never had one to begin with though, so it wasn't ever really a thing for me. But now with it's destruction people like me can't just view the platform other than linked tweets. Oh well!

I'll PM you the individual posts.

Honestly I think a lot of things have to go right to still hit that pitch like he did. Lots of guys talk about how difficult it is to hit a pitch that fast even if it’s right down the middle

Edit automerge is the polar opposite of Jojo

I think the previous AB against JT was a factor. He struck JT out on a high fastball out of the zone with Nick on deck and you can tell he was feeling himself after it.

If i'm Nick I am looking for that same pitch to start the AB. This goes back to Strider thinking he is unhittable and loving to challenge hitters with his fastball.

Nick was clearly hunting fastball, and he was more than f***ing ready for it.

The Braves and Phils both benefited the same. I'm sure Atlanta will bring up the umps in their laundry list of excuses, but that one isn't going to fly

It looks like the Phillies are in the positive from the Miami series. 0.674-0.332=0.342.

I know the bullpen gets a lot of criticism, some deservedly so, but I think they are built the right way. Outside of elite closers, it is a volatile position. Phillies have stockpiled a bunch of high risk/high reward flamethrowers, and guys with “stuff”. With shorter leashes and fewer batters face in the playoffs, the opposing team is constantly being bombarded with high velocity and “stuff” in the later innings.

They're also in transition, Kerkering is just the first of the young guns coming up through the system. They've become good at identifying college pitchers who are suited for relief, and picking them in the 5-15th rounds.

Yes lol. Anyone saying otherwise is reallllly underestimating how hard it is to hit a baseball at that level.

There's a reason Strider is as dominant as he is as a starter pretty much just throwing two pitches. His fastball is hard and it rides. JT swung at a pitch over his head lol.

Nick is just locked in. He hit the slider and the fastball out.

How can we call the Braves a choke organization when they won a World Series in 2021 without their best player?

I think it's mostly the ecstasy of victory talking. Which I am down to mainline. But I'm with you in that "can't win with Acuña" gives me "can't win with Matthews" vibes.

Just enjoy the chaos of small samples; not everything has to be a declarative statement (except for Harper, who might actually be a playoff Mt. Rushmore freakazoid). What being a playoff hero usually comes down to is individual runs or even the occasional series. Mookie Betts (noted bum) has a career wRC+ of 90 in the postseason. Turner is at 89. Acuña is at 120. It's not carry-you-on-my-back caliber, but it's okay for a guy who's still younger than Stott. It's Jeter's career number! I hope he reeks every series going forward....but he probably won't.

Looking at playoff stats is honestly a hoot. David Eckstein has a higher wRC+ than Buster Posey in a similar sample. Schmidt? Right there with Turner and Betts. Did you have Victorino as a better postseason hitter than Joe DiMaggio? There's 1000 examples: embrace the absurd!

Btw, shoutout to this board.

Living in Europe, I watch the games on tape delay the next day.

And reading through the 20 or so pages in this thread after watching the games is really fun (after the wins). Living through the ups and downs of the game once again, the insane overreactions, the angsty negativisims, the blind optimism, everything! :thumbu:

It's just all Duran lol
