My personal, serious Mt Rushmore is Harper, Utley, Doc, and Kalas

On a more broad sense, I think the masses should consider Kalas, Carlton, Utley, and Schmidt. I'm not the biggest Schmidt fan but on a Phillies history scale you can't deny what he is to the franchise
Surprised to see you're the only one mention Kalas...

Dick Allen still gets no respect.

Allen would play 1B in my starting 9 with Howard DHing.

I considered it but Ashburn was both a beloved player and broadcaster..and we've had some incredible players in our 100+ years.

Asshole is stealing our thunder.

No chance he doesnt read this forum.

Also, I have no problem in people including Harper in their personal Mt. Rushmore.

I don’t answer the question in a way that allows me to say Kalas, but I totally understand doing so.

If Kalas makes it, Ashburn has to as well. He was a team broadcaster for I believe only 3 less years plus the HoF career. Both were synonymous with the org.

There needs to a better thing that people use for these arguments besides Mt. Rushmore. Four just isnt enough.
Just add more faces like Naruto's mountain thing

Also Mt Rushmore itself is not really something to be proud of. Stole the treaty protected land during the War of 1876 against the Sioux, building on it illegally. White America, baby

My dad always told me he was the best ball player of all time or that he ever saw.
When I was a kid he and Johnny Callison were my favorite players. I tried to imitate Allen when I batted. He was a pretty gosh-awful fielder though. He came up as a 3rd baseman, they moved him to LF and finally to 1B where his major contribution in the field was writing in the dirt with his foot.

I'm a monster for tagging a boulder in a national park, but the U.S. government is heroic for using taxpayer money to vandalize a whole mountain?

I remember Ashburn as a broadcaster with By Saam and Bill Campbell. That was years before Kalas came on to replace Cambell I believe. I was young so maybe my memories are skewed by youthful idolizing but I remember By Saam being every bit as good as Harry.

I love hearing these stories. Thank you for taking the time. I never had the thought before, but I really should seek out a Saam broadcast.

Campbell was as nice of a person as you could possibly want to meet. One of my best friends growing up was one of his grandsons. He just radiated kindness.

I remember Campbell also doing Sixers games.

@BrindamoursNose One thing I feel is important is that I think there’s a misconception about Nate Hackett’s offense. When he gets into the Red Zone, he passes A LOT. And Rodgers has an affinity for sight adjustments in close. This was the most important part of the highlight throw from Rodgers the other day. It’s a sign of conditional high leverage Davante Adams-style usage from Rodgers.

Even before the draft, I was Olave > Wilson. I still am from a football standpoint. But for fantasy, it’s different.

*Edit* I have no idea how I did this, but it’s staying here. I remain the worst.

Psst...wrong thread (puts up police tape)

How's that even possible? When it's your spot in the order, you can choose to claim as many as you want? You don't get to pick just one then it goes onto the next team? Seems dumb
I said the same thing. Maybe it the order for the entire "waiver period".
