Nola going to give this lead right back.

If RT is calling for a bunt there he really isn't alive. Rojas has shown he can't bunt before.

Hector Gomez said the source he has is the same one who broke news of the Rays signing him Franco to his big extension.

Wow. "EVER"

There have been some inklings that the 2nd underage girl who filed (or her family) charges against Franco in the DR may not be the only one and that Franco was DELIBERATELY looking for underage girls.

Happy to admit I never played Baseball, so I'm likely talking out of my ass. But I'm surprised catchers don't have a better batting average

Also talking out of my ass but I think it's because for that position they don't prioritize the hitting. I remember a prospect like Schwarber coming up nobody really believed he would be able to stick at catcher. Defense and managing the pitching staff seems to be more important. If you have both then you're a Joe Mauer type of catchgod.
Speaking from experience, your legs feel like jello by the 7th inning and it feels like you are swinging a lead pipe. At lot of ABs are given away just from fatigue. Especially later in the season as the back-to-backs pile up. Lots of "minor" nicks and bruises too. There's a reason they don't play everyday. Also, as has been touched on, if a HS kid is a great hitting catcher, a lot of teams will move them off the position so they can have their bat in the lineup everyday which will obviously reduce the odds of seeing a great hitting catcher. There are cases where teams will move middle infielders behind the dish if they don't think they project to the big leagues there. JT was a HS shortstop. Buster Posey too. He made the switch as a college Sophomore. Will Smith played some infield too. It's usually foot speed related but that obviously did not apply to JT.

If we get fully automatic strike zones where framing doesn't matter anymore, we may see the position become more offensive, but there will still be the wear and tear factor.

So what’s the deal with the masks? Why do some prefer the hockey style mask, more protection? Must be hell in there when it’s 90 and humid in Miami.
