So many Habs fans despise Therrien but during his 2nd tenure he had a better record as a coach than any other Habs coach in the last 30 years. His teams generally outperformed expectations. This board was jubilating when he was fired as if it would solve everything. It didn't.

it's not his coaching that we despise

Not sure what they were expecting Vigneault to do with this group of players. It’s not a bad roster, but they don’t have the horses to run with the Eastern contenders. They’re in with that CBJ/NJD/DET tier of teams that is hoping to be on the bubble. If you ice a team like that, long losing streaks are gonna happen from time to time.

I guess I just have a reflexive distrust of firing a coach when the team is performing about where you’d expect. A few weeks of new-coach hot streak isn’t going to fix fundamental institutional issues.

You knew either him or Trotz were the next to get the ax. Although, Yeo doesn't inspire much confidence. As @tarheelhockey said, a coaching change - especially to a conservative one like Yeo - isn't going to put them over the top.

There are people asking to fire Ducharme in Mtl. How about we ice an NHL defense first ?

The Flyers goalies have a .913 save% on the year with both being between a .911 and .917, I don't really see goaltending as their issue.

They're 30th in goals for, that seems to be the bigger issue.

The Eastern teams haven't figured out how to solve them...especially Jones.

I have a feeling Torts will be the replacement unless they stick with Yeo.

Curious to see if Yeo has “developed” at all since his last two stints as HC. Sometimes coaches just end up finding the right situation (i.e. Eakins in ANA).

Flyers fans shouldn’t have to apologize to Rangers fans.

We didn’t take Canucks fans seriously when they warned us either.
Wait untill you get a taste of Green. You will beg for AV to come back.

I mean no disrespect, but you have never had the misfortune of having your favorite team coached by AV.

It’s extremely telling that he coached two of our most successful teams in 20 years and we pretty much universally despised him by the end.
