I saw a youtube video with him talking about the chiefs and he seemed to underestimate the chiefs, basically said their back 7 is not very good, and that is certainly not the case.

I was pretty nervous about this game, but then I went back and watch their Divisional round game vs the Jaguars. The Chiefs were so lucky to win that game it's pretty remarkable. There were 3 huge mistakes that cost the Jags the Game. 1. Christian Kirk dropped a 50 yard pass from lawrence that he should've had. 2. Lawrence was hit helmet to helmet ( very obviously too) and the no flag forced a drive stall at midfield and forced a punt. A flag there and they are in field goal range. 3. James Agnew with the brutal drop/ fumble. Had it been a drop on the field it wouldn't be overturned.

I believe we will have similar approach on offense. Spags only shot is getting us to 3rd and long. On other side of the ball, its going to be hard to stop mahomes. The injury and the new offense means a quicker passing game that is less explosive that limits opportunities to get to Mahomes. They do have 1 athletic freak and its Isiah Pacheco, who can turn a 3 yard loss into a 40 yard run. They also have Andy Reid who I imagine will script a lot of misdirection , screens, and man beaters early in the first 15 to keep our edge rushers off balance. Andy is not going to allow our dline to win the game, Patrick will be protected, so it will be crucial to force some long 3rd downs ( common theme to success in the nfl).

I think our secondary is going to have to have their best game, and I believe they are prime to do. This is the healthiest our secondary has been in a while and I am feeling more and more confident about our safeties. If you go back and watch that san fran game, CJ GJ was fantastic coming up into the box and making tackles, something that he really struggled with early on and Blankenship excelled at. Now that he is reading plays quicker and reacting quicker he is going to be huge in diagnosing these screens and misdirection plays early. He needs to play big.

Doug basically only called plays behind or around the line of scrimmage until the 4th quarter. They did have that one drop you mentioned but that was basically it though three quarters. The Eagles cannot do that, and I dont expect them too as the Chiefs got constant pressure. The Jags did however kill them on the ground 19 for 146 and none of them had a longer carry than 25 yards. They probably should have leaned on that more, as it was between a 7 and 10 point lead for the Chiefs most of the game and nearly all of the Jags were quick passes (Lawrence completed air yards has been the lowest in all of the playoffs so far). Obviously alot of it depends on the score but as long as the Chiefs dont pull away I expect a heavy dosage of running.

The Eagles can do that and should imo. TLAW is a great player with upside but Doug is doing a masterful job of putting him in spots to be successful. Hurts is in a lot of ways similar but with better vision. IF we run that same offensive concept with better talent, we should be able to get in a lot of manageable 3rd downs.

FWIW, Ray seems confident in Eagles > Chiefs purely because of the O/D line advantage for the Birds (which I think is very reasonable).

He says Mahomes will make his plays because he's a magician, but it'll be a war of attrition that the Eagles will likely win over time.

This is the Ray video I watched & it shoots serotonin into my brain.

yeah but in that video he calls gay and bolton as nothing special which is dead wrong. But he is right that we wear down teams. Not only that but sirianni is excellent at making in game adjustments, he did that in 49ers game for our run blocking schemes and it changed the game for us.

Mostly I agree. Our secondary and LBs will be stressed continually with screens and motion, ect.

Which is why (broken record), I think we should be a run heavy/ball control offense. If we can play that way, (aside from turnovers) I cannot see how the Chiefs win.

I just really don't see how their defense will keep up with our OL and running game, if that is the offensive gameplan focus.

I never understood the ball control philosophy because weather you score a td in 1 minute or 10 minutes patrick mahomes is getting the ball back.

We need a high scoring game to win imo, because the more KC has to drop back to throw the more opportunities for a mistake or our pass rush to win. If this game is in the 20's i do not like our chances.

Holy f***. I want to win just to rub it in the faces of the 49ers our new biggest rival apparently. JFC

One more victory and there is a decent chance the banner will be unveiled against them .

This game is very similar to Niners/Chiefs. Except I think the Niners defense was better but I like everything else about the Eagles. Jimmy had players wide open that game, couldnt hit them. If Jalen has that chance he will.

Are they really?

I will say that if Purdy doesn't get injured, I wonder if that game goes differently. He was real fun to watch down that stretch for them, AND he makes for a great story too in terms of going against the whole "you have to draft a franchise QB in the 1st!" Of course I'm not saying he's a franchise QB, but he looked phenomenally better than a 7th rounder, and I think he does possess the tools to be a starting QB in the league.

But...I don't know, in the end I think even if he doesn't get healthy, Philly still wins. It may not have been the blowout it was, but our DL is just doing good work right now.
They couldn't protect Purdy and they couldn't protect Johnson and they couldn't run the ball.
So odds were the Eagles still win by 7 with a healthy Purdy.
I think the only reason SF scored on that one drive was the team lost its edge with Purdy out, then after that it was all over for SF.

I mean the theory is tiring out their defense, while ours stays rested and fresh. If they get 6 possessions in the game they have less chances to score. If they score 6tds in 20 minutes we deserve to lose.

And I'm not talking a defensive battle where we don't score...this is 10 plays, 7 minutes and a td on offense. If we own 21 of 30 first half minutes, and are up 21/17- to 0/7 (two or 3 possessions for their offense)...that's a game we want (and we did this ALOT this year). That is a tremendous amount of pressure on them to make up points in the second half. Grind them down.

There are 10000 ways this goes wrong in an offensive shootout, and that is to THEIR advantage.

We had games vs the lions, Packers, cowboys where the defense broke A LOT. They play much better with a lead.

@Chinatown88 This is very important information about the Eagles as a franchise.

Josh Sweat builds his own PCs.
Lol that's a rich man's game. I can't assemble a PC (significantly) better than I can buy for $1000. Ahh the 90s and weekend computer traveling shows. I built probably 40 PCs for people that decade.

I'd be impressed if he was soldering the chipsets though.

???????

Are we talking specifically benchmarking in the short term here or something? Or waiting for a sale and ignoring the quality of the parts that may not affect typical benchmarks?

That is a stupid take. Wow. He should get savaged for that 1997 nonsense-thought
I mean you can accuse him of being salty or whatever, but if we can't run, and Jalen doesn't run for first downs on occasion and they force him to just make plays in the pocket, we are probably not going to win.

One salty thing for sure is his running comment. Buddy the 49ers D got TORE up in the outside running game. I didn't think that was going to happen...

If you are KC and you say...pick one:
A) Eagles rush for 200+
B) Hurts passes for 300...they are taking B every time.

I really don't understand these keep Hurts in the pocket talking points. He's been fantastic there this year.

He still leaves too early too often and he's been terrible throwing on the run, but give the man credit for making a huge leap in the pocket this year. The numbers back up the eye test too.

I'm mostly worried about the shoulder and the impact it's had on his accuracy.

I mean like if you throw me into a store and give me a grand and tell me put together a PC....the value in assembling it myself, ensuring I get compatible parts and such, vs just some gaming rig off the shelf is lessened.

If you got money/time to spend then sure water cool and get some high end vid cards, bridge em and what not. Endless variability there. I'm kind of surprised there isn't a TV show on science channel for extreme rigs or something.

To be clear....my take is for them, pocket Hurts is the better alternative than us running all over them. It isn't that Hurts CAN'T produce this way.

If they can't stop the run, the game is already over.

Probably tried to watch a Flyers game.

Nah, pre-builts still have wacky distributions of dollars even in the 1k and under tiers.

Maybe if you go to a MicroCenter, you might be able to find something comparable. Not off the shelf from the big online retailers. A quick look at Cyberpower for their most popular $999 AMD build has an R5 5500 and a 6500 XT. For that much, you should easily be able to upgrade to a 6800 with 4 times the VRAM and probably bump the CPU up a bit. Plus you can make sure your PSU isn't shit and things of that nature.

Would you believe me if I told you that I bought a ticket to the game today just to check out a set of seats that may be available next season, got myself a piece of pizza, and the wife a milkshake to bring home and left all before warmups even took place so I didn't have to watch even a second of this shit team?

It's so sad that I used to be a huge Flyers fan and I pretty much no longer care at all, at least with also not enough time to invest anything into the dumpster fire that is the Flyers. Seems like many of us these days.
