Speaking of the draft...

There is some wild variation in lists at this point. Jeremiah does his homework. It's nothing against him or anyone else in particular, but opinions seem more varied than usual to me after Carter and Anderson in whatever order you prefer. There are lists from analysts who aren't doing this just for clicks that have guys in the top 5 and also out of the first round. We'll crunch down a bit toward consensus, same as we always do.

*Edit* Holy shit, Bresee at 43. I cannot imagine a scenario in which he gets by the Eagles' own 1st assuming no trade.

Bresee that far down was the surprise. I got through like the top 15 & was like where is he?

I have a real tough read on what to make of the Eagles offense right now. On one hand, it feels like its still sputtering a bit. On the other hand, 69 points (nice) scored in 2 playoff games, and we ran the ball down the throat of the best run defense in the league. Our OL beat the shit out of NY and SF, and both games were in a spot where we could almost immediately go into a vanilla playbook, knowing the game was under control. We had no need to really test either secondary, and against SF, at a certain point you had to make the call to not even put Hurts in a position to reinjure himself against one of the hardest hitting defenses in a game that was a foregone conclusion with 8 mins left in the first quarter.

That is one large human, he’s big obviously just looking at him but getting some confirmed measurements on him makes it even crazier.

I remember my football card collecting days in the 1970s. I would pore over every element on the backs of the cards. There was a Tackle named Russ Washington. Played for the Chargers, and he had the highest listed weight of any player in that series - 294 lbs.

I think that is what has a lot of media confused as well. If you look at a lot of the games that was the formula. Get up and then cruise through the 2nd half, sometimes cruise a little too much. There were games where we were more successful passing and a lot of games where there was balance. But I have gotten that "sputtering" feeling as well but for me, I think that has to do with how they handle the 2nd half -- they put the cruise on take the play clock down to 1 snap the ball, and run for 3-5 yards.

My concern over the past 3 games is I do think Hurt's injury (and maybe AJ Brown) has caused some issues in the passing game, he seems a touch off before he would put the ball into the outstretched hands rather than near the outstretched hands. Passes that maybe someone could catch up to are now 2-3 yards further and that could be also because the receivers other than Goddard have been inconsistent.

We have to assume Bradberrry is lost to FA? We've talked about how key good DBs are with what Gannon asks of his defense, and it's no surprise them making the most noise in a while corresponds to them having their best group of DBs in a while.

Imo, CB is key, not just a hole like the last few years. The blueprint is there and it proves how important it is

Yeah, I'd bank on most of Bradberry, Cox, Hargreaves, Quinn, Dillard, Edwards, White, Suh, Linval, and Sanders to be gone.

But it could also be Kelce, Graham, Suemalo, Minshew, Pascal of course.

Only guys (off-hand) I think we retain are Boston Scott, Epps, and Gardner-Johnson. The rest is all up in the air to me. We've gotta keep *someone* though, right?

Kiper didn't have him in his 1,0 mock. DJ had him going to KC at 30 I think? I don't think the draft peeps liked what they saw even though everyone knew what he was dealing with. Who knows what happens comes combine time let alone draft time.
