dude died didn't he?

that would be brutal and change so much in the game probably for the best

Hopefully he did not die. No indication of that yet and it better not happen.

But like...an on-field death is 1000% inevitable. Hell, in early football they happened all the time--it's part of why the forward pass exists. There is no "safe" version of this dumbass sport. The most shocking aspect is that it hasn't happened more recently or frequently.

This blows.

I have been thinking about Chris Pronger takibg a puck to the chest while with the Blues. We can only hope Hamlin recovers as fully as Pronger did.

My buddy is at Cincy kid's Hospital funny enough - nurses there seem pretty solid that he'll be OK

Having a pulse was priority #1 & they think his breathing on his own could return soon. That's something that he could get out of soon (but not sure).

Anyone trying to troll with this needs to be removed from the face of the earth. Some asshole on a Bills forum started up with the vaccine shit and someone else jumped on his bandwagon. They thankfully got that crap edited out and then rightfully banned. A player on your team could possibly die tonight and you're trying to play politics? Die in a fire.

Oh no. I'm just getting caught up. I have no idea how you get so broken as to be worried about anything other than the people involved in this right now.

For the posts above, Rooney is extremely connected with Pitt players.

I don't mean to add the vaccine stuff to it at the end of the tweet, but I didn't make the tweet...still the info is solid

who cares who made the decision to not play. they all came together and did the right thing.

The NFL needs to be criticized for telling these teams they have five minutes to warm up before playing.

That should absolutely not go unchecked.

The teams and the players seemingly came together and did the right thing. The NFL had to be coaxed into doing the right thing.

The league protocol in that situation a five minute break. the refs were literally just following protocol in the immediate aftermath and obviously as more information became available/they discussed it more, no one forced anyone to play. the game was suspended.

this is just outrage porn at this point. again, there is no villain here. it's a tragic accident that was reacted to in real time.

My understanding of the timeline is, refs were following protocol. League called down and advised they could take as long as needed, which is when the game was suspended. Then the teams decided it wasn't happening tonight.
