Oh Jesus Christ are we actually starting the "we shouldn't have paid Jalen Hurts" conversation after 1 bad loss?

That's what I dont understand. They have shown in the pass that when the other team is going to play to stop the pass they will run it. It seemed like the Jets were just daring them to run and were committed to stop the ball being thrown. The Eagles thought they could win that way. Total coaching failure, Jalen was bad, and drops killed. Still probably would have won if not for the final turnover, that's why I would have done a qb draw or something. Not second guessing either. Make Zach Wilson go over 50 yards with no timeouts and maybe without Garrett Wilson in under 75 seconds.

Also Swift going out of bounds earlier that drive gave the Jets another 40 seconds. Would have potentially had an opportunity to snap that final third down with 80 seconds left. Just bad offensive play and coaching all around.
Did you watch them try to run the ball? They weren't very good at it.
Bigger problem is they don't have a reliable slot WR and can't run a RB screen to save their lives.
So they seem to send 3 WRs deep and Hurts holds the ball, holds the ball . . .
If your wideouts pressure the shell, there should be plenty of room underneath.

It was not pretty indeed and most of it was probably due to Lane being out. Them not trying to establish the ball isnt my biggest issue, it is not trusting their defense to hold Zach Wilson under 50 yards with 75 seconds to go and no timeouts. I would have never have thrown on that 3rd down given who the opponent was. They did and it cost them. As did all the drops and other turnovers.

That brings us to another issue, this is the second time late in the gamer Jalen's turnover killed them. They were lucky to escape from it in Foxboro.

This loss isn't as frustrating as the one against the Lions when Mathews fumbled the ball when they were literally running out the clock.

Totally forgot about that one, lost by a point in Wentz rookie year. That was 7 years ago. Luckily there havent been too many like this recently.

“They should’ve run the ball more!”

The running game was getting absolutely nowhere. Why smack your head against the wall then? That’s what more running would‘ve accomplished yesterday.
