This is genuinely suspicious (& I’m not a blame the refs or a “it’s rigged” guy:

Chiefs last 12 playoff games dating back to 2021:
Chiefs penalties: 41
Opponents: 74

Maybe he’s waiting for a fit.

Oh he definitely is. He turned down the Packers in 2021 and other NFL teams. He turned down giant CFB DC contracts. People thought he was waiting for the HC gig at Wisconsin. Then he didn't get it.

He even interviewed with the Eagles to replace Gannon, but there was some kind of issue with his recovery from hip surgery.

I just would have thought more teams would go hard. It feels like it's one a year or so. It wouldn't surprise me if it's that he would be a first time NFL DC. Which. Yeah.

So how much money does a positions coach make compared to a coordinator? Might be better to enjoy an upper middle class lifestyle without your head being called for every time you lose

Brian Schottenheimer seems like a very nice man. As a coach, he also seems like a very nice man.

The first question was a softball about why the Joneses chose this guy. I have to find the clip. Jerry takes 15 seconds of dead silence and then goes into three minutes of nothing. It’s a ramble in half sentences. His answer is mostly about how he himself wanted to be a coach but they don’t make enough. The man cannot form a sentence.

He’s still going after 6 minutes. He’s talking about being on the NFL Competition Committee. The question was why did you hire this man? The most specific he has gotten is that he had deference to his Head Coach. I am deceased. Hopefully Jerry never is.

His handlers really have to be sitting there on the edge of their seat hoping he doesn’t revert to factory settings of yesteryear and say something he shouldn’t.

I didn't know what his face looked like until a couple months ago and when I did eventually, it checked out.

He knows X's and O's but holy f*** is he annoying.
Great Blitz by KC. 6 guys on the LOS. But, both LB drop into coverage while S still comes and CB comes off the edge.
Completely messed up the Bills. LG plan was to block the LB but his LB bails. RG slides to his left as he expected the C to take #32 LB, but that LB bails, and the C adjusts to block #90 whom the rG expects to block. Leaving S Reid free. RT takes #56. LG noticed too late that the pressure was coming from the right, and tried to get back to help, but too late.

6 guys on the line, so it had to be a quick pass. Needed 5 yards for the first.

The Hell...?

I don't trust Simmons as far as I can throw him, but, he did go public with this.

To sabotage them?

It's an interesting trend among owners. I think it's new? Harris is Devils/Sixers/DC. Now it's gonna be Eagles/Celtics in Lurie's portfolio. It's like these guys sit around and wonder what could piss off the most people who follow their teams and create gaping conflicts that aren't actually conflicts.

COOK THE FRAUD NERD

I really wanted to stay out of this one, but it's not going away. This is bullshit from Schwartz, who I generally like. It's so easy to just say the pressure changes things in the moment, but instead we have to resort to shit like the game not being played on dots.

It's a weak approach for weak-minded people who don't have any interest in serious discussion. It's no different than ESPN covering sports as drama. It's lowest common denominator bullshit. You get to choose if you're better than that.

Sometimes Allen is gonna go Full Grossman. It's his nature. I don't think this is complex or controversial. He is gonna go for The Thing in big moments. Always has. Sometimes it poops into his ass and he's ridiculed for a week, sometimes he's a massive hero.

Brees and Brady make that Shakir throw, though. I have 0 doubt. And normally it's a good idea to do what those guys would have done.

How has he not gotten a good DC gig? It makes absolutely no sense. He’s literally been my #1 choice for an NFL DC for 6 years.

He’s definitely turned down college DC jobs, probably even this cycle. I guess he’s a guy who will only to coach at that level if it’s at his alma mater as long as he has control over the situation.

Every answer Jerry gave was about himself and the criticisms of him. Those were not the questions. That was an all-timer press conference.

It's a damn tough read to make in that situation. You're running a condensed formation, which makes your blitz reads tougher. Spags dials up a fantastic play and you've got not just the extra guy running free, but a second rusher. I get the point that Solak is trying to make, but I don't know that the near side edge is as clear of a read as he thinks it is while Allen's still looking at it.

I both think it's the right answer and am not going to kill anyone for missing it as long as you find something that gives you a chance. He got off a pretty damn good throw considering and it was a 1st Down if he catches it. I'll take that every time.
