Edit: I don't get the McCarthy hype. But DJ is plugged into the front offices across the league. Rakestraw at 22 is kind of okayish? Seeing a lot of love for him over the past month or so.

We knew the McCarthy charge was coming. I remember talking about it in October. He’s big, has some arm talent, and he won games.

So much changes every single year, but I do wonder how much next year’s likely QB class affects the McCarthy, Penix, and Nix types. The best returning QB is who? Carson Beck? He made wonderful progress as the year went on, but that’s still not close to top of the draft talent.

Your Daniels.

Idk I just get exasperated every year when there's QBs sky rocketing up boards and we all know they're not top 20ish talent at the end of the day. I mean unless you got a crazy plan where JJ can sit for a year or two then I get it. But if you're throwing him out onto the field day 1, woof.

I have to go back to work tonight and am therefore grumpy. Does anyone have any new Niners tears to cheer me up?

Supposedly AJ Brown tweeted (or didn't tweet, according to his IG account) about the Philly media & fans today...

This is exactly why Elon Musk is a complete dodo and ruined Twitter. We can't even tell if AJ Brown is trashing the media or not because the blue check doesn't mean anything anymore.

In terms of Hype, I think Drew Allar from PSU was supposed to challenge for the #1 pick in 2025, but I don't think his 2023 season went as well as say Maye's 2022 year went for him as a first year starter (2nd year on the roster). See how next season goes for him.

Don't know how analysts could have said that since he only got mop up duty in 2022 behind Clifford.
Year to year, you just never know with the QB class. No one really stands out from the big programs.
McCarthy, better arm than Pickett and Nix. He's a little lanky, so needs to fill out physically. Ideally, he sits in 2024, but who knows which team he ends up on. I get why he went for the draft vs return to Michigan with 20 new starters and new HC.

QBs get to much hype. Malik Willis went from potential top 10 pick to 3rd round pick 2 drafts ago.

@DancingPanther

Punt God signed with the Chiefs.
Townsend is a free agent. made $2.6 mill last season. Going to need every cent to keep as much of their D together as they can while looking to upgrade the WR group. If the kid sticks, that's a $1.7 mill or so cap savings.
