Jerry is jonesing for Bijan at 26. I would despise it.

Fitzgerald says they basically need to do a Lane restructure in order to make this cut work, even using their last 6/1 slot.

I do strongly believe they chose the right Corner. Even setting aside contracts.
I know it's been said but I feel like Howie is gonna try bargain shopping again with Shaq Griffin.

as someone who has paid very little attention to football and no longer trusts myself to make an accurate evaluation, this made me feel better because it goes against my initial feeling on the decision

Their play on the field or their looks?

Guess corner is back in play at 10.

Not that anyone cares what I think I'm sure, but I'm fine with it.

Slay is getting older, got worse as the season went on, and I certainly didn't want to give him a 3 year deal.

The Eagles historically get rid of players 1 year too early rather than 1 year too late - and I agree with that method. So I'm fine with this even though Slay would've been nice to keep.

Slay had a bad second half, is a year older, time to bring in young blood.
I think this scheme makes CBs as much as CBs make the scheme work, a lot of protection.

But I also think Howie needs to bite the bullet, absorb some cap hit instead of pushing it down the road, even if the team has to take a step back and play a lot of inexperienced players.

I see a trade down for more picks and the Eagles being major players in the UDFA market to build depth.

Has anybody read something about re-doing Slay's contract before the release??

If it's a straight post-06/01 release, his 17 million non-guaranteed base salary stays on the books until June 1st.

I'd rather have them reduce the base salary to the minimum (~1.5 million IIRC) first before releasing him so we get some cap relief immediately.

Would make no difference to Slay, he's not seeing a cent of that money anyway, neither the 17 million, nor the minimum salary.
