So is it getting to the point where we should start being low-key concerned that Howie is assembling an environment that led to Carter being careless enough to street race which led to someone's death?

I'm happy, I think Howie didn't f*** around with this draft and got top value players...but unfortunately, character and leadership is *huge* right now with all of this talent assembled from 1 squad.

I believe that if the Eagles feel comfortable, I feel comfortable. It's worthy discussing this since it's a very odd thing to draft so many players from 1 school on 1 side of the ball in 1 Draft.

Not sure if Ringo profiles as a starting CB, but he should help STs, and they'll probably try him in different roles, see where he's comfortable.

FS would be ideal but that requires instincts that he may or may not have.
Big fast CBs are nice, but does he have the hips?
But DBs taken at this point in the draft tend to be more depth/role players.

I think that the Eagles have an environment to deal with this, and plenty of professional experience where he isn't going to be rushed to anything.

Factor in Dean was a captain, Davis was supposedly his calming influence, and Smith was a team captain. I think for the most part Dean and Davis would have been talked to a lot leading up to the pick and Dean spoke out about the rumors.

I know we have to bitch about something but leadership on the Eagles isn't even a question, Carter is an immature 21-year-old that is for sure, but from everything Ive seen the pieces are in place to allow Carter to grow from this experience -- it was not a sparkling start to his post-college career.

Yeah, he profiles more of a safety, someone who can roam, his issues have always been consistency and technique. He is good at run support and playing the trailing position.

Yeah he fits the mold for a free safety, he has those instincts and very fluid hip movements, he's a really good value pick

Here's to hoping somehow some way the eagles can land chase brown, rb from Illinois, if he falls to us in the 7th round I'd be ecstatic

How many 21 year old guys have their head on straight and make truly smart decisions.... I know I didn't.

I did lots of dumb things at a young age, just fortunate nothing seriously bad happened.

If you look at it from a standpoint of Eagles trading *their* 2024 3rd for the 3rd pick of the 4th round is hopefully just 'falling back' ~10 spots, but exercising the pick immediately.

assuming obviously they are a playoff team, advance a round and pick in the mid 20s or later.
Love the logic, well worth the risk. Next year is probably our best chance to win. I don't mind a level of pushing for it.

And now we have traded for Swift.
Don't like it to be honest. Lets see what we gave up...

I actually don't like it. Feels like an overpay (yes even if its only a 4th two years out) but we are talking about a guy on a 1yr deal that is a RB with an injury history.

Sure its better than the Quinn deal but the first move over the last few days that I did not like.

I only want this guy for ~4 games, in Jan and Feb. Don't care about the rest. Guy has burst and is a load, just can't stay healthy. Best RB we have had in a decade.
