For OL, 40 times are more about stamina, ten yard split more important b/c how often do they run longer than 10 yards?
SS definitely, and cone drill b/c it gives you a feel for agility.
But I put a lot on the jumps, especially inside, leg explosion is where you generate power, taking into account weight (30" at 320 is as impressive as 32" at 300).
When I see the Eagles sign a OL with bad "jumps" I figure he's a tackling dummy.
The one exception is Toth, b/c he was a military football player, they need to bulk up their first couple seasons b/c they don't have the time (and with AF, aren't allowed) to bulk up like the big programs.
Pretty sure he plays more safety then anythingRiley Moss the first white CB since Jason Seahorn?![]()
I know Mapu is a bit of a reach, but I'd be shocked if he doesn't at least kill it on special teams. I think this guy made EVERY tackle on the Sac State D.Bill.![]()
However, those are aggregated stats. But different OL coaches have different emphases, Castillo liked 'em big, Mudd smaller but very athletic, Stoutland big and athletic.Oh man. I love that SF pick and his fit there. Ji'Ayer Brown hit the lottery.
IOL Short Shuttle specifically is one of the very few tests that has a stronger correlation with future cap moneys earned than draft position. I believe it's still the strongest single position test we have.
The only other tests for offensive players this holds true for are WR 3 Cone, TE Weight (this is a function of Blocking TEs sticking around), and Tackle 3 Cone.
He was an outside corner at Iowa who rarely played the slot. But he's inevitably going to be a safety in the NFL because he's white. It's so weird.Pretty sure he plays more safety then anything
I barely saw him play. I know he has fans. It's just Bill takes whoever the f*** he wants when he wants. It makes no sense.I know Mapu is a bit of a reach, but I'd be shocked if he doesn't at least kill it on special teams. I think this guy made EVERY tackle on the Sac State D.
Anime is fake.
Probably tells you something about the talent left in the eyes of the 49ers. He doesn't even sound like the usual "special" kicker you see being drafted in the 4th or 5th. "Trading up" via settling that tampering issue certainly looks good in hindsight.3RD ROUND KICKER? REALLY?
The 49ers are a bit into themselves when it comes to the draft (the Saints do too), and for good reason, they do well at evaluating the talent even if the value isn’t as robust. But then they also traded 2 extra 1sts-plus to draft a QB who hadn’t played in a year from an FCS school to have him then continue to not play.Probably tells you something about the talent left in the eyes of the 49ers. I am a bit surprised Kelee is still on the board. I never was a fan at all but with his athletic tools but a kicker going over him is a bit rich. Looks like the league does not believe he can play safety (him dropping as a CB prospect makes sense).
But the real shocker is Adebawore. From the potential 1st round pick that according to rumors Howie loved to a 4th round pick.
I'm disappointed to learn that "Kool-Aid" is not his real first name
Dan Smith, BYU
Jason Elam was a 3rd round pick, and well worth it.3RD ROUND KICKER? REALLY?
