I think Josi-Myers will be the best pairing in hockey this season.

Unless Myers hockey IQ grows exponentially then he'll always be a frustrating 2nd pair player that has all the physical tools but still lacks awareness.

Yeah that’s seemingly pretty bad for Vegas unless they believe Patrick is going to find his health and game he was drafted to be.
I take Patrick over Glass. Both are 22 and i think he'll a t least as good as Glass but with more potential.

To be honest I dont understand this trade at all for Vegas

Glass sounds way more promising than Patrick

I find it hard to believe they could not get more than that for Glass

What about Glass seems more promising at this point?

I like the trade from Nashville's perspective. I think they got two pretty good young players who will likely have NHL careers for Ellis who they needed to trade, and who while I've always liked the way he plays, is now around the age where dmen sometimes trend downwards.

Aside from the fact that Patrick has proven more on the ice than Glass so far regardless of his injuries/migraine disorder issues, Kelly McCrimmon and Nolan Patrick also have strong ties that go back to their time in the WHL with the Wheat Kings.

And they are both 22. I'd still rather take a chance on Patrick over Glass.

Patrick got nailed head first into the boards by Gabriel. Then in the next game he took a high hit to the head. Then a game or two later Clutterbuck hit him with a slapshot in the back of the head. He missed the last couple regular season games after that and had the migraines beginning after the head shot. I don't know how much clearer it could be. He had a concussion that triggered migraines. The team knew, which was why Fletcher was so, to his credit and I don't give him much, adamant about getting a 2C. That was a good plan. That it was Hayes for 7 long years and ED protected NMC is not to his credit, but he had to do something in expectation Patrick could not play (and did not play).
Agree.

Patrick could be the best player in this trade by Christmas.

In a theoric world where he is 100% healthy , no doubt Patrick is a better player. But it is just not the case , at some point it becomes a heavy trend , not just badluck. Nolan Patrick is extremly injury prone dating back to his pre draft years.

Glass has nice size , decent production for his age , good candidate for a breakout year . Patrick seems like hes one hit away from retirement , Im really surprised they landed a 22yo center prospect with decent top 6 upside for him.

I think Philly did good in the trade , Nashville did great and Vegas got hosed.

It's important to not lump in the migraine issue with his previous injuries. He didnt miss any "significant" time due to injuries in his rookie or sophomore seasons. His 3rd year was a total loss due to migraine disorder which has nothing to do with being "injury prone." He appears to have put the issue behind him and was injury free his 4th year (3rd season) but his level of play wasnt as high. I dont think injuries are going to be what holds him back. It'l be lack of will to be a great player. I question if he has the motivation.

Kimmo Timonen's eyetest says Nolan was playing afraid this season and staying away from corners and contact, like he was afraid of getting hit again.

Glass sent to the minors... I know alot of people laughed at VGK trading him away, but he just isn't good enough... I kinda assumed he would be back in the minors again this season.

Hopefully he can figure it out while back in the AHL and potentially become a regular NHLer one day

Kinghts Kelly Mack had Patrick before in Jr. Won with him so has hope he can turn it around. Maybe it works , but is risky based off of play so far the last couple years.

Glass is such a weird player to me. I don’t like to ever call a prospect a sure thing, but ask anyone that watched him play in the 2019 AHL playoffs after finishing his junior career he was a stud. To go from that player to two years later not making the NHL is a head scratcher. Might just be a classic case of a AAAA player
